At the Xbox Games Showcase, the creators of Pokémon, Game Freak, have unveiled their upcoming project, which is an intriguing game that departs from any previous work they’ve created.
The game is titled “Reincarnation’s Beast,” a third-person action adventure set in post-apocalyptic Japan. Players assume the character of Emma the Sealer, who, accompanied by her canine companion Koo, journey across the nation to eradicate corruption and prevent humanity from vanishing altogether.
The Beast of Reincarnation film is being led by Kota Furushima, who has been a part of the Pokémon game development team at Game Freak since the release of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. In these games, Furushima focused on battle planning; however, he transitioned to sound management with the launch of Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in 2022.
As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that Fictions, a freshly independent publisher with roots tracing back to Private Division (once a subsidiary of Take-Two), has taken its first steps as an autonomous company in 2024. Not only is it making waves on its own, but it’s also the force behind the upcoming release of Lego Party, unveiled just last Friday during the Summer Game Fest event!
Mika Kurasawa, our Fictions executive producer, expressed delight in collaborating with Game Director Furushima-san and the highly acclaimed team at Game Freak. We deeply appreciate their ongoing partnership and faith in us,” said a press release. “We can hardly wait to give players a sneak peek into the breathtaking landscape and pulse-pounding battles of Beast of Reincarnation.
Originally titled “Project Bloom” and initially slated for release by Private Division, the game now known as “Beast of Reincarnation” was first unveiled with limited details. A solitary piece of concept art was shared upon its announcement, but since then, we’ve been treated to a full reveal, and it’s shaping up beautifully! The visual style is captivating, and the fast-paced combat promises a rewarding, crunchy experience.
2026 marks the launch of “Beast of Reincarnation” across platforms such as Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Notably, gamers with an Xbox Game Pass subscription will have access to the game on its release day.
