As a passionate movie enthusiast, I’ve been thrilled to catch glimpses of Galactus in the promotional materials for the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe film, “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.” Although the trailers have merely hinted at his appearance, the merchandise and promo art have given us a tantalizing peek.

The depiction of Galactus faithful to the comics can be found in promotional artwork from Japan and the cover art for the LEGO Marvel: Galactus vs The Fantastic Four set. Notably, there’s no Silver Surfer included in the LEGO set, a character who was portrayed by Julia Garner in the film.

In a recent interview, Garner stated, “She serves as Galactus’ emissary, but it remains unclear where her allegiance lies – is she loyal to her superior or merely following orders? There seems to be an enigmatic aura surrounding her, and the solution to this mystery will gradually unfold as we watch.

The latest preview (you can watch it here) offered a glimpse of Galactus, who was depicted traveling through an alternate New York City that belongs to the Fantastic Four.

It might be quite exciting if they manage to maintain the unveiling of Galactus as a secret, only revealing him during the movie’s premiere.

Who is Galactus?

Galactus is a mighty cosmic figure from Marvel Comics, famously referred to as “The World Devourer.” Crafted by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, he debuted in Fantastic Four issue #48 back in 1966. Unlike conventional antagonists, Galactus sustains himself by absorbing the energy of entire planets, making him more like a force of nature than a typical villain.

Typically, his presence marks the end of an entire universe, and he frequently utilizes messengers such as the Silver Surfer to discover fresh worlds that he can consume. (This version maintains a similar tone but uses simpler language and a more straightforward structure.)

What Will Happen with Galactus and the Fantastic Four?

In the comic books, The Watcher frequently becomes embroiled in conflicts between the Fantastic Four and Galactus, as well as wielding the Ultimate Nullifier – a destructive force that can obliterate entire solar systems in the time it takes to blink.
