
The video commences in a foreboding cottage tucked away within an ominous forest. It opens with Lady Gaga, adorned in cracked porcelain doll-like makeup, seemingly amidst hundreds of ancient, eerie dolls and heads. Her appearance strongly resembles a more seductive Bette Davis from the timeless horror film, “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane.” As if brought back to life by sorcery, a disco dance party ensues, and the unsettling dolls come alive, dancing exuberantly. The entire scene carries a distinctly Tim Burton-esque ambiance, leading us to speculate if her appearance was also inspired by “The Corpse Bride” and the witch from “Sleepy Hollow.
In the highly acclaimed first season of “Wednesday,” Lady Gaga’s 2011 hit “Bloody Mary” was cleverly remixed and gained immense popularity, revitalizing the song a full decade after its release. Given this success, it comes as no surprise that Gaga made an appearance in the series and even composed a new tune for it. Known for his long-standing collaborations with actors, Tim Burton might just bring Gaga into one of his upcoming films. We’d certainly welcome any further partnership between Burton and Gaga.
