Full House Star David Lipper Reveals How He Was Cast In 1987 Sitcom After His Previous Show’s Pilot Did Not Air On TV

As a lifestyle expert with a keen interest in the world of entertainment, I must say that David Lipper‘s journey into Hollywood is nothing short of fascinating. His anecdote about being cast in Full House after Warner Bros. took notice of his work following a non-aired show is a testament to the unpredictable nature of showbiz.

David Lipper’s unique experience of being cast in the 1987 series Full House stood out. In an episode of the How Rude Tanneritos podcast, the actor shared that he was chosen for the sitcom by Warner Bros., as his previous show did not get aired on their channel.

Lipper entered Full House in its last season, but before that, the actor shot a pilot for a show titled The Secret Life of Harry Green, which was later changed to Reality Check. According to the Hollywood star, the show also included Hilary Swank and Kaley Cuoco as leads.

On their podcast, the actor revealed that Warner Bros. producers expressed admiration for his acting prowess. Since the last show couldn’t continue, they proposed featuring him in another series instead.

Lipper recalled, “The head of Warner Bros. Television at the time told me, ‘You know, we’re big fans. I’m a fan myself. We think you’d be great for another show.’ That’s when I was cast on Full House.”

Furthermore, regarding the unscheduled premiere, the Canadian actor disclosed information about the abandoned series. “The show was absolutely hilarious with me as the lead, and my co-stars were diminutive personalities who had modestly successful careers.”

He went on to mention, “Giovanni Ribisi, Hilary Swank, a two-time Oscar winner; Tiffani Thiessen portrayed my love interest; and Kaley Cuoco, who didn’t gain significant recognition after our show, played my sister.”

As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to share some behind-the-scenes trivia: The hit series “Reality Check” was brought to life by the brilliant minds of Kevin Bright, Martha Kauffman, and David Crane, who were also responsible for another one of their groundbreaking shows that soared in popularity back in 1994. Interestingly enough, it was this latter show that was snapped up by Warner Bros., marking yet another success for these talented individuals.

Initially, the seasoned performer remarked, “This one seemed to have a stronger chance of success than Friends, as it garnered superior test ratings due to our top-notch humor.” However, the show Reality Check didn’t resonate with viewers like FRIENDS did.
