FRIENDS’ Central Perk Cafe’s New Location Opens in December with Tasty Menu Items

Soon, you’ll be able to enjoy a tasty sandwich and drink in a wonderfully warm and welcoming spot – Central Perk! The famous cafe from the TV show Friends has appeared temporarily before, but now it’s opening a permanent location in Times Square, New York City. After a lot of eager waiting from fans, it’s officially confirmed: Central Perk Coffeehouse will open its doors on December 5th.

You’ll find the cafe at 20 Times Square, on the northeast corner of 7th Avenue and 47th Street. With the city buzzing during the holidays, it’s a great time to bring the magic of Friends to life! This cafe blends nostalgic elements from the show with the vibrant energy of New York City. The menu, created with input from award-winning chef Tom Colicchio, will feature food and drinks inspired by Friends, alongside items unique to this location.

Here are two signature items that will be available for the NYC opening: 

  • The One with NYC Matcha, a layered iced matcha latte blended with oat milk, featuring rich strawberry purée, and topped with a savory cream cheese cold foam. When mixed, it evokes the flavors of strawberry-matcha cheesecake.
  • NY Relaxi Taxi Tall Iced Cooler playfully references a common directive amongst the characters to “relax.” Made with half lemonade and half iced green tea, brightened with lavender syrup, and finished with sparkling water and a lemon wheel for a taxi-yellow accent, it’s an antidote to the hustle and bustle of Times Square.

It’s delicious! Chef Colicchio made a sandwich called The Tribbani as a tribute to Joey. It’s packed with Italian meats – prosciutto, soppressata, capicola, cotta, and coppa – plus provolone cheese, lettuce, giardiniera, and a drizzle of olive oil and vinegar, all on a soft hero roll. It really captures the feeling of New York!

Top Chef and James Beard Award winner Tom Colicchio explained that food, to him, is all about connecting people, and Central Perk embodies that perfectly. He expressed his excitement about contributing to the menu of such a well-known New York City spot, saying the ‘Tribbiani’ sandwich is a tribute to the TV show Friends and is sure to become a daily favorite for New Yorkers.

Fans can find exclusive merchandise only at the new Central Perk Coffeehouse in Times Square. Like the Boston location, they’ll also be able to enjoy Central Perk Coffee Co.’s six signature coffee blends, which are available to order online as well. The coffeehouse opens its doors on December 5th, so come enjoy a matcha and relive the best of the ‘90s!
