Frankie Muniz is “excited” to reprise his role as Malcolm. He will be back for a comeback in Disney+’s Malcolm in the Middle revival, which consists of four episodes. The announcement was made in December to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary.
As an ardent fan, I can hardly contain my excitement as I eagerly await the return of my beloved sitcom! This long-anticipated revival will bring Malcolm’s family back together – reuniting me with the legendary Bryan Cranston, who brilliantly portrays Hal, and the equally captivating Jane Kaczmarek, who breathes life into Lois.
Reflecting on the reboot, it seems like forever ago when whispers of a possible revival first surfaced a full decade back. During this time, I’ve watched with bated breath as Malcolm and Hal gradually worked behind the scenes to resurrect this cherished project we all hold so dear.
Since the plans are now in motion, Muniz is expressing his eagerness to rejoin the universe of Malcolm and his unconventional family. He revealed to People that discussions about a revival began approximately 10 years ago with Bryan Cranston, and they’ve been gradually developing it until it became a tangible project. As a result, he’s extremely enthusiastic about it.
He shared that he had to delve into some chemistry scripts. He’s not at liberty to disclose which characters, but there will be fresh faces joining the series. It was quite strange for him to reconnect with Linwood Boomer, the show’s creator, and Ken Kwapis, the director, and step back into that frame of mind again.
Eight years back, Muniz reminisced about watching the series again with his spouse, Paige, and then he had a realization: “Malcolm wasn’t great.” The actor emphasized, “He was definitely the least likable character in that entire show!
The narrative of the revival will center on Malcolm, now a grown man with a spouse and daughter, yet still finding himself entangled in the whimsical misadventures of his parents once more. Their upcoming 40th wedding anniversary seems to be pulling them back into his life again.
About stepping back into his character, Muniz said, “Oddly, it was right at home.”
Back in 2000, this popular TV show stood out as one of the top single-camera comedies. It skillfully blended witty humor with a storyline about growing up.
Disney Plus is set to broadcast a comeback of the TV series “Malcolm in the Middle,” featuring Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, and Jane Kaczmarek returning to their initial characters.
