Sarah Jessica Parker found herself back in the spotlight after a comment from her former “Sex and the City” co-star, Chris Noth, sparked conversation online. The actress, famous for playing Carrie Bradshaw, recently received the Carol Burnett Award at the Golden Globes, a lifetime achievement honor that unexpectedly drew attention.
Chris Noth, who famously played Mr. Big alongside Sarah Jessica Parker, posted a workout photo on Instagram with a defiant caption: “F New Years – LETS GO!!!!” When one follower jokingly called him out for not acknowledging Parker’s recent award, he responded with a terse “Right.” This brief reply struck fans as odd, considering their long history working together on Sex and the City and the show’s continuation, And Just Like That.

Parker and Noth’s relationship has been strained by accusations of sexual assault against Noth. In 2021, two women publicly accused him of incidents that allegedly occurred in 2004 and 2015, in both Los Angeles and New York City. Noth strongly denied these accusations, stating they were completely untrue and that any encounters were mutually agreed upon.
After the accusations against Chris Noth surfaced, I noticed Sarah Jessica Parker immediately created some distance. When asked directly if she’d spoken to him since December 2021, she simply said no. It meant a lot to me, and I’m sure to many fans, when she, along with Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, released a statement supporting the women who bravely came forward. They acknowledged how incredibly hard it must have been to share their experiences and commended them for doing so. It felt like the right thing to do, and showed solidarity with those who needed it.
Notably, Noth had previously come to Parker’s defense when rumors surfaced about a strained relationship with Kim Cattrall. In an interview with The Guardian, he firmly supported Parker, pushing back against negative comments and demonstrating his loyalty to his former colleague.
Even with the ongoing controversy, Parker is still praised for her successful career and continues to concentrate on her own projects. Noth, however, has mostly stopped acting since the accusations came to light.
This highlights how a celebrity’s past actions and words can influence how people view their relationships. It’s a reminder that even when things look good publicly, real-life difficulties and taking responsibility are important parts of any relationship.
