Former Miss Universe Star Kseniya Alexandrova Passed Away At 30 After Elk Smashes Through Car Windshield in Russia

Kseniya Alexandrova, a former beauty queen and model who represented Russia in the Miss Universe pageant of 2017, tragically passed away at the age of 30 due to severe brain injuries sustained from an elk colliding with her car windshield during a road accident in Tver Oblast. According to Russian news source Rossiyskaya Gazeta, Alexandrova succumbed to complications stemming from the July 5 crash on August 12, in a Moscow hospital.

What happened in the crash?

On July 5th, while Alexandrova and her husband were returning home from Rzhev, a startling elk appeared on the road without warning. Their husband told Rossiyskaya Gazeta (in Russian) that, from the moment the elk emerged to the impact, it was almost instantaneous – there was barely enough time for any reaction. He further stated that Alexandrova lost consciousness following the crash, and all he could remember was a scene of bloodsplatter after the collision.

At the accident site, other drivers lent aid, and emergency services arrived within approximately 15 minutes, as reported by the husband. Alexandrova was transported to a hospital in Moscow for treatment of critical head injuries. Despite receiving medical attention, her condition deteriorated, leading to her passing away on August 12 due to complications.

Who was Kseniya Alexandrova?

Alexandrova was recognized not only as a model but also as a participant in beauty pageants. In 2017, she finished as first runner-up in the Miss Russia competition and subsequently represented Russia at the Miss Universe pageant that year. Sadly, her modeling agency, Modus Vivendis, announced her passing on Instagram on August 13.

In an Instagram post, Modus Vivendis honored Kseniya Alexandrova. The agency stated, “In Russian, ‘Kseniya was radiant and gifted. She had the ability to motivate, comfort, and bring warmth to everyone she encountered. To us, she will always represent beauty, kindness, and inner resilience.'” Additionally, they expressed their “heartfelt sympathies to her family, friends, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Kseniya.

I, a dedicated follower, share that I got hitched with my beloved husband just four months prior to the unfortunate incident. As you may know, I have been practicing psychology since earning my degree from Moscow Pedagogical State University, a fact I recently updated on Instagram in November 2022.
