Former James Bond Tipped to Lead Rumored ‘Sgt. Rock’ Movie

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt and countless hours spent immersed in the DC Universe, I must admit, the prospect of Daniel Craig as Sgt. Franklin Rock has left me both intrigued and skeptical.

DC Studios has a lot of exciting projects lined up. In addition to the ones revealed for DC Universe’s Chapter 1: “Gods & Monsters”, they are also developing other ventures, such as an animated film titled “Dynamic Duo“, focusing on two Robin characters, and a live-action movie featuring the Teen Titans.

Lately, there have been whispers circulating on the internet about an upcoming Sgt. Rock film, with Luca Guadagnino at the helm.

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share some insights about a compelling figure from my comics collection: Sgt. Franklin Rock. Originating from the creative minds of Robert Kanigher and Joe Kubert in 1959, he is a valiant member of the Easy Company, a WWII unit that saw action in Europe during the war.

To date, his sole live-action role has been in the series Legends of Tomorrow, portrayed by Blair Penner.

Currently, there’s buzz surrounding a well-known figure within the industry, nicknamed Apocalyptic Horseman, who suggests that Daniel Craig, famously known for his role as James Bond, might be cast as Sgt. Franklin Rock in an upcoming film.

To clarify, I was the one who initially shared this news, and now there’s chatter about a potential candidate for the part. Therefore, let me reiterate that Daniel Craig is currently Luca’s preferred choice for this role, but it’s important to note that he has not yet been formally cast or given the offer.

The veracity of these rumors hasn’t been established as fact just yet, given that the film is merely speculation at this point. It’s peculiar since other supposedly upcoming projects, such as the Teen Titans movie, have been validated by James Gunn in the past.

In addition, if Sgt. Rock appears in the series “Creature Commandos”, it’s possible that Daniel Craig won’t portray him in the live-action adaptation. Gunn, as stated, prefers to have the same actors play their roles in both animated and real-life projects, as one fan suggested based on the original post discussion.
