Former ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Extra Accuses Eric Dane of Bullying Following His Death

News of actor Eric Dane‘s death has led to a debate online after a former background actor on Grey’s Anatomy, Laura Ann Tull, publicly accused him of being unkind. Tull left a comment on a Variety article about Dane’s passing, describing him as “a bully and an a-hole.”

Her statements quickly sparked a lot of reactions, and many people challenged her claims. When asked to provide evidence, Tull explained that Dane had bullied her during her three years working as an extra on Grey’s Anatomy. She wrote that he was abusive, a bully, and constantly made fun of her. In a separate post, she added that he had recently passed away and she wished he had apologized for his actions and acknowledged what he had done.

Tull asserted that she was responsible for Dane’s departure from the show, stating, “I am why he was fired from Grey’s.” This claim mirrors previous statements she made in a 2018 Medium essay about her time as a background actor in Hollywood. She explained, “I worked on Grey’s Anatomy for three years as an extra, but I never had a direct conversation with Dane. However, I did overhear him talking about me.” Tull also mentioned being called “weird” by someone else, which ultimately led to her leaving the entertainment industry.

There’s no proof to back up Tull’s suggestion that she influenced Dane’s exit from Grey’s Anatomy. Dane has stated his departure was simply a matter of budget and creative choices – the network found it too expensive to keep long-term cast members. He’s also clarified that his personal issues with prescription medication didn’t play a role in his decision to leave.

Eric Dane, famous for his role as Dr. Mark Sloan—nicknamed “McSteamy”—on Grey’s Anatomy, later appeared in the HBO show Euphoria. He died on February 19th at the age of 53, just under a year after sharing that he had been diagnosed with ALS, a disease that progressively affects the nerves. Before his death, Dane dedicated himself to raising awareness about ALS, speaking openly about his experiences. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, after a brave fight with the disease.
