And here’s the official synopsis for Young Sherlock from Prime Video:
Inspired by the energetic style of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes movies, Young Sherlock tells the story of how Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous detective came to be. The series shows a young, flawed Sherlock Holmes getting involved in a murder mystery that puts him at risk. This first case takes him on an international adventure and forever changes his life. Set in 1870s Oxford and locations around the world, the show reveals the wild, early adventures of the future Baker Street detective before he became a legend.
Director Ritchie is set to helm the first two episodes of the new eight-episode series. The show boasts a stellar cast, including Joseph Fiennes and Colin Firth, alongside Dónal Finn, Zine Tseng, Natascha McElhone, and Max Irons. While a Young Sherlock Holmes movie was released in 1985, it wasn’t a huge success. Hopefully, this new series will resonate more with audiences. All eight episodes of Young Sherlock will be available to stream on Prime Video starting March 4, 2026.
