The initial trailer for John Patton Ford’s film, How to Make a Killing, is out now, offering a first glimpse at the darkly comedic thriller.
Ford wrote and directed the movie, drawing inspiration from the 1949 British film Kind Hearts and Coronets. Glen Powell stars as Becket Redfellow, leading a cast that includes Margaret Qualley, Jessica Henwick, Bill Camp, Zach Woods, Topher Grace, Ed Harris, Raff Law, Sean Cameron Michael, and Bianca Amato, who plays Cassandra Redfellow.

This screenplay has been circulating for some time. Originally appearing on the Black List in 2014 under the title Rothchild, it was once planned to be directed by Jon S. Baird and star Shia LaBeouf and Mel Gibson. However, that particular project didn’t come to fruition.
Filming resumed in March 2023, with Ford taking on the role of producer. The movie, initially called Huntington during its development, continued to draw inspiration from the classic film Kind Hearts and Coronets. Over the following year, the cast was assembled, starting with Glen Powell in January 2024, and later adding Margaret Qualley and Ed Harris in May.
Shortly after, Jessica Henwick, Topher Grace, Zach Woods, Raff Law, and Bill Camp joined the cast, and filming quickly started in Cape Town. The production employed a large number of local crew and background actors.
The movie, previously known by a different name, is now officially titled How to Make a Killing. With the release of the first trailer, viewers are starting to get a feel for the film, which blends dark comedy with thrilling suspense.
