- “Ultimate Driving” sunglasses launch July 11, blending vintage motorsport style with modern craftsmanship

- Inspired by racing legends; the campaign features Nick Ashley and Tuthill Porsche 911K
On July 11, 2025, Team Ikuzawa, along with eyewear specialist Native Sons, will reveal the “Ultimate Driving” Sunglasses in a unique collaboration. These glasses are tailored for both drivers and motorcycle riders. Named “Tetsu,” in honor of racing legend Tetsu Ikuzawa, these limited-edition frames blend classic motorsport design with contemporary practicality.
Each set is individually created by hand in Fukui, Japan, utilizing custom Takiron acetates, gold- and silver-plated titanium, and Shima Optics lenses. The straight temple design allows for compatibility with helmets, while the lenses are equipped with anti-reflective and hard coatings to ensure maximum clarity and reduced eye strain.
The idea spearheaded by Mai Ikuzawa is influenced by iconic figures such as Senna, McQueen, Newman, and Françoise Hardy, striving to rekindle a time when style and performance harmonized seamlessly. As Ikuzawa points out, “This design needed to evoke feelings.
Tommy O’Gara, the creative director at Native Sons, collaborated on the design, while the campaign showcases Nick Ashley, a British racer and designer, and was captured by renowned fashion photographer Frederike Helwig. The appeal of this campaign is further enhanced by a brief appearance from a Tuthill Porsche 911K – an exquisite, carbon-bodied vehicle worth $1,100,000 USD, weighing less than 850kg and capable of reaching 11,000 rpm. This campaign, along with the sunglasses it promotes, embodies a spirit of independence, traditional craftsmanship, and an enduring love for speed.
More details will be available soon via Team Ikuzawa’s official site.
