As a die-hard Marvel fan with a soft spot for the Fantastic Four, seeing Joseph Quinn’s portrayal of Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, has me absolutely giddy! The suit, as revealed in these leaked set photos, seems to perfectly blend the retro-futuristic style that the movie is aiming for.
“The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe release, ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps,’ is generating a lot of excitement. Filming for this movie is underway at Durdle Door in Dorset, England, with its premiere set for July 25, 2025.
In a world different from ours, the movie is going to present the Fantastic Four characters as well as some of their iconic adversaries within the scope of their on-screen universe.
For quite some time now, we’ve learned who the principal actors are going to be. Pedro Pascal will step into the shoes of Mr. Fantastic, while Vanessa Kirby assumes the part of Sue Storm. Joseph Quinn is slated to embody Johnny Storm, more popularly known as the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach is set to play Ben Grimm, better recognized as the Thing.
Lately, we’ve had a glimpse of Bachrach’s depiction of The Thing, and more recently, leaked set photos have revealed Joseph Quinn dressed as the Human Torch.
The outfit on Quinn seemingly matches the one displayed in the D23 ‘First Steps’ concept video. So far, responses to the suit have been favorable, as it aligns with the “retro-futuristic” aesthetic that Fantastic Four is trying to convey through its marketing.
On numerous occasions, Quinn has shared his feelings about his position and expressed his enthusiasm for joining Marvel’s original team. In a joking manner, he admitted to rehearsing by igniting himself. Yet, it’s important to note that he approach his role with utmost seriousness.
For some time now, I’ve been undergoing training. We still have a couple of weeks left, and I’m fortunate to have an exceptional trainer named Tim who pushes me beyond my comfort zone. We’re not aiming for any extreme physical feats; instead, he’s helping me project the right image. Gradually but surely, we’re making progress.
