Early glimpses of the characters in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, The Odyssey, are starting to appear. We’ve already seen Tom Holland as Telemachus, Odysseus’ son, and Matt Damon as Odysseus himself. But with such a talented cast, each new character reveal is exciting! And this classic story deserves it. The latest reveal features two beloved actors: Zendaya and Robert Pattinson. According to Empire magazine, Zendaya will play Athena, the goddess of wisdom who helps and protects Odysseus. Robert Pattinson will be Antinous, the most arrogant and unpleasant of the suitors vying for Odysseus’ wife, Penelope. You can see Zendaya and Robert Pattinson in their roles in The Odyssey below.

We absolutely love the casting choices for The Odyssey! Zendaya is perfect for a goddess role, and Athena suits her really well. Robert Pattinson seems like he’ll have a blast playing a truly unpleasant character – we’re picturing a version of Edward Cullen from Twilight before he learned to express his feelings!
The new photos from The Odyssey feature Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, and John Leguizamo, who plays Odysseus’s faithful swineherd and companion. And we’re definitely enjoying the beards!
An official trailer for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey hasn’t been released yet, but it seems like one is coming very soon. The movie is scheduled to come out on July 17, 2026, and we’re eagerly anticipating its release.
