Prime Video has released the first images of Hero Fiennes Tiffin as Sherlock Holmes in the new series “Young Sherlock,” directed by Guy Ritchie. The photos reveal Fiennes Tiffin playing a 19-year-old Holmes investigating his first murder case in 1870s London.
This series is based on Andy Lane’s “Young Sherlock” novels and tells the story of a young, inexperienced Sherlock Holmes. Prime Video says the show will follow Holmes on exciting adventures around the world, solving mysteries that help him develop into the famous detective we all know.
Guy Ritchie directed the series and also worked as an executive producer with Matthew Parkhill, who oversaw the show’s creation. They were joined by executive producers Dhana Gilbert, Marc Resteghini, Simon Maxwell, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Kelton, and Colin Wilson. Harriet Creelman and Steve Thompson served as co-executive producers, and Motive Pictures handled the physical production of the series.

A Prime Video insider shared that they aimed to show a fresh side of Sherlock Holmes – one where he’s young, driven, and still figuring out his incredible abilities.
A new series called “Young Sherlock” will debut on Prime Video in 2026. This project represents director Guy Ritchie’s first time revisiting the world of Sherlock Holmes since he made the films “Sherlock Holmes” (2009) and “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” (2011), both starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.
After more than ten years, director Guy Ritchie returns to the world of Sherlock Holmes with “Young Sherlock,” despite years of talk about sequels and other related movies.
Viewers can look forward to Guy Ritchie’s distinctive filmmaking, along with a new and exciting version of the Sherlock Holmes story, mixing suspense, thrilling action, and a historical setting.
