I’m so excited to see Sophie Turner as the new Lara Croft! I’ve been following the filming of the Tomb Raider series for Amazon, and it looks incredible. I saw pictures of her filming in the UK – she was doing her own stunts, even in the pouring rain and cold! She’s really throwing herself into the role, and I can’t wait to see the finished product.

Sophie Turner is taking on the iconic role of Lara Croft, previously played by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander, in a new TV series developed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the creator of Fleabag. Photos released recently show Turner performing a parachute stunt over a lake, safely secured with a harness. For this action sequence, she traded Lara Croft’s usual outfit of a tank top and shorts for more practical grey cargo trousers and a navy vest, combining a stylish look with a tough, determined attitude.

Sophie shared that she’s been preparing for the role for nearly a year and filming will begin in January. She told ScreenRant she’s both excited and well-prepared, and feels fortunate to be working with Amazon. She believes the upcoming Tomb Raider project will be something truly special and can’t wait for audiences to see their take on Lara Croft.

I’m really excited about the cast they’ve assembled for this new series – Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, and Celia Imrie are all fantastic! They’ve cast Sophie Turner as Lara Croft, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge is involved, which is a huge plus. She called Sophie “formidable” when she was announced, and seems really confident in her. Phoebe also said everyone working on the show is as adventurous and funny as Lara herself, and that we should get ready – Croft is on her way! It sounds like they’re going to do something special with the character.
