At San Diego Comic-Con’s Like a Dragon: Yakuza panel, Prime Video unveiled a sneak peek of the upcoming series with a teaser trailer. Later, Ryōma Takeuchi, the show’s lead actor, and his co-star Kento Kaku, along with other team members, appeared on stage to discuss their excitement about bringing the video game to life for fans.
Kento Kaku was announced as portraying the character of Akira Nishikiyama, more famously called Nishiki among video game enthusiasts. Nishiki assumes the position of the primary adversary in the upcoming series titled “Like a Dragon: Yakuza,” which is set to unfold in two distinct timeframes.

Starting October 25th in Japan (October 24th globally), a new six-episode series titled “Like a Dragon: Yakuza” will debut. The initial three episodes of this production will be accessible on Prime Video in over 240 countries and regions around the world. In the recently released teaser, viewers are given an insightful peek into the upcoming adaptation, primarily showcasing the character Kiryu. It’s anticipated that some action scenes in the series might outshine those experienced in the video game.
Masaharu Take, a renowned filmmaker with high acclaim, is leading the production of “Like a Dragon: Yakuza.” In addition to Ryoma Takeuchi portraying Kazuma Kiryu, Munetaka Aoki joins the cast in an undisclosed role. Furthermore, we anticipate the inclusion of beloved characters such as Goro Majima and Haruka Sawamura, as their narratives significantly impacted the video games.
