Excitement is building as the eagerly anticipated return of “King of the Hill” hits Hulu screens on August 5th. A fresh sneak peek has fans abuzz with anticipation.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t hide my excitement over the first glimpse of the revamped Hill clan in this upcoming season! It’s official now – our beloved Nancy Gribble is back, and the unique, offbeat comedy we’ve grown to love is still very much alive.
In the video, Hank and Peggy Hill, accompanied by Dale and Nancy Gribble, explore the George W. Bush Museum. Hank is thrilled, admiring a baseball signed by the ex-president and a pen that was used to halt offshore drilling. On the other hand, Peggy seems uninterested, playfully suggesting to Nancy that she might contemplate ending her day if they have to stay any longer.
In a humorous retort, Nancy says, “You can’t just ditch me like this,” showcasing the dry wit that endears her to fans. The scene hints at Nancy’s return, although it’s undecided if Ashley Gardner will reprise her role. Her marriage with Dale seems unchanged, but whether her past relationship with John Redcorn will re-emerge is yet to be seen.
Here we have an excellent opportunity! Starting August 4th, all fresh episodes from the new season of “#KingOfTheHill” will be available on Hulu.

After spending years in Saudi Arabia, Hank and Peggy Hill, now retired, make their way back to Arlen, Texas – their hometown which they find drastically altered. Meanwhile, their 21-year old son, Bobby, is working as a chef in a Dallas restaurant, preparing an unusual blend of German, sushi, and robata cuisine that leaves Hank less than impressed, given his preference for propane cooking. Pamela Adlon, Bobby’s voice actor, describes him as having grown more focused and somewhat reminiscent of his father.
During the ATX Television Festival in May 2025, one of the creators, Mike Judge, explained that making the characters older was essential to the concept behind the revival. He noted, “Since the show is so rooted in reality, it seemed fitting that they would have grown older.
Hank finds it challenging to adapt to contemporary developments such as bike lanes and scooters, which contradict his traditional beliefs. As Judge pointed out, Hank expressed discomfort with the transformation in Arlen, symbolized by a preference for modest clothing among women.
The video and opening scene hint that the comeback maintains the series’ witty, uncomfortable humor and delves into the Hills adapting to a fresh phase. Uncertainties remain regarding their reasons for returning and if Dale managed to fulfill his mayoral aspirations, as hinted in the intro.
I can’t wait for the comeback of King of the Hill! It’s particularly intriguing because it combines a dose of nostalgia with new hurdles for Hank in a transformed setting. The humor in the preview remains authentic, and I’m eager to discover how Bobby’s culinary journey unfolds and what Nancy’s character brings to the table.
