Dwayne Johnson gave fans a first look at the new Jumanji movie as filming officially began.
I was so excited to see a post from him on Instagram the other day! He was on a Hollywood set, and he showed off this necklace he was wearing. It instantly hit me – it was the exact same one Robin Williams wore in the original Jumanji from 1995, when he played Alan Parrish. It was a really cool little nod to the classic film!
In a video, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson revealed a special tribute to Robin Williams on the set of their final Jumanji film. He showed off a dice from the original Jumanji movie, explaining it was a way to honor Williams and the franchise’s beginnings. Johnson finished the post with a dedication: “This one’s for you, Robin.”

I’m really excited about the new Jumanji movie! It’s being put together by a fantastic team – Dwayne Johnson, Jake Kasdan, and producers Dany and Hiram Garcia, along with Matt Tolmach. They’re working with big names like Columbia Pictures, Matt Tolmach Productions, Seven Bucks Productions, and The Detective Agency to make it happen. It sounds like it’s in good hands!

The new movie will feature many returning stars, including Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, Awkwafina, Danny DeVito, Lamorne Morris, Alex Wolff, Morgan Turner, Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, Rhys Darby, and Bebe Neuwirth. Joining them are new cast members Brittany O’Grady, Burn Gorman, and Dan Hildebrand.
Jake Kasdan is directing the new Jumanji movie, which he wrote with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. This film picks up where Jumanji: The Next Level (2019) left off and will be the last movie in the series. It’s currently planned to hit US theaters on December 11, 2026.
