The new trailer for Supergirl offers the first look at Jason Momoa as Lobo. Though the shot is brief and somewhat unclear, it confirms he’s in the DCU and gives a sense of his character’s personality.
The clip features Momoa emerging from darkness into a dirty and disordered environment, hinting that the studio is saving a more complete look for a future trailer or a significant promotional moment.

A Tease Instead of a Reveal
The footage doesn’t show the full design or the iconic details fans are waiting for.
The film focuses on building intrigue around Lobo, revealing just enough about his personality, attitude, and power to suggest he’ll be a significant character.
By keeping the character’s appearance under wraps, DC Studios seems to be focusing on building excitement and mystery, rather than revealing everything at once.

More Lobo Than Originally Planned
We’re hearing from sources within the studio that Jason Momoa’s performance was so well-received, they increased the size of his role in the film.
So, I heard a cool story about how this character wasn’t originally meant to be a big deal. Apparently, when they started showing early cuts of the movie, everyone was so impressed with what they had that they kept giving the character more and more to do! It just kind of organically grew from a small part into something much bigger.
If true, this lines up with Gunn’s broader push toward bolder, cosmic characters early in the DCU.
