The first Masters of the Universe trailer has given fans a menacing glimpse at Jared Leto’s Skeletor.

Leto’s portrayal of Skeletor features a menacing look with a dark hood, glowing red eyes, and a skull-like face inspired by the original toys. This version is much more intimidating and serious than previous, often comedic, interpretations.

This take looks terrifying, powerful, and cinematic.

Travis Knight, the director of films like Bumblebee and Kubo and the Two Strings, is bringing a new, action-packed take on Masters of the Universe to theaters on June 5, 2026.

The Evil Forces of Skeletor
The trailer gives a glimpse of Skeletor’s incredible strength and menacing magic, showcasing him summoning purple lightning and fighting He-Man in a spectacular battle for the throne.

Full Cast and Mythic Scale
Leto heads up the group of villains, which includes Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, and Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops.

Let’s talk about the cast! Nicholas Galitzine steps into the role of Prince Adam, who we all know transforms into He-Man. He’s joined by a fantastic supporting cast, including Camila Mendes as Teela, the always-impressive Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms, and Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress. And a special shout-out to Kristen Wiig, who brings a lot of fun as the voice of Roboto. It’s a solid group that really brings these characters to life.
