First Look at ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 Concept Art Teases New Adventures on a Strange World

Initially conceived as a miniseries, ‘Ahsoka’ has since sparked talks about a potential second season, contingent on the success of the first. Following the show’s complete premiere in October 2023, Dave Filoni decided to divert his attention from his upcoming ‘Star Wars’ crossover movie towards crafting another season for ‘Ahsoka.’

In January 2024, it was made official that Dave Filoni was indeed working on the second season of ‘Ahsoka’, which coincided with his appointment as the Chief Creative Officer at Lucasfilm. In this role, he now has oversight of all future Star Wars projects.

In the finale of Ahsoka, Ahsoka Tano and Sabine find themselves stranded in an unfamiliar galaxy, while Thrawn and Ezra make their way back to the primary Star Wars universe. Meanwhile, Baylan discovers towering statues depicting the gods from Mortis, ancient beings with immense Force power. The creators aimed for these statues, even without prior knowledge of The Clone Wars, to leave a lasting impact on viewers.

Dave Filoni, the series’ mastermind, harbored aspirations for further narrative development, yet expressed contentment if the storyline concluded as it stood, because recovering Ezra had been a significant objective of his.

In the concluding sequence, Anakin manifests as a spectral presence, observing Ahsoka and Sabine. Filoni mentioned that Anakin had been there all along, but it was only after Ahsoka’s development in episode five that she could perceive him. The final frame underscores the idea of master and disciple, with Anakin, Ahsoka, and Sabine symbolizing various eras of the Jedi order.

This is presumably where the second season will pick up.

At present, during Star Wars Celebration Japan, they unveiled some preliminary designs for the upcoming second season.

In the depicted scenes, Ahsoka Tano is shown standing before a colossal temple on Peridea, clad in white, and engaged in combat with a giant space creature resembling a slug.

I’m thrilled to share that Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, and Eman Esfandi will grace our screens once again for season 2 of their fantastic series. Come January 2025, Rory McCann steps into the shoes of Baylan Skoll, a role previously held by Ray Stevenson, who we sadly lost in May 2023.
