In the game Oblivion Remastered, Mephala, who is known as the Daedric Prince of falsehoods, trickery, and violence, has chosen a new advocate to stir up a conflict. This time, it’s between two disputing clans residing in the same settlement.
The Daedric Princes can indeed be quite reprehensible, and Mephala takes great pleasure in that reality. Completing her mission can be an enjoyable challenge since it demands a touch of subtlety and cunning to succeed. If players aim to obtain the Ebony Blade and stir up conflict between two factions, then this quest is perfect for them within the realm of Oblivion Remastered.
Mephala’s Shrine Location in Oblivion Remastered
In the northern part of the Imperial City lies the Temple of Mephala, situated right before the Silver Road. Once players reach level 15, they can initiate the quest from this location. To catch Mephala’s eye, though, you’ll need a Nightshade, which is abundant in Cyrodiil or available as a common item at the Main Ingredient shop in the Imperial City Market District. Although it’s not expensive, players can opt to sneakily grab one from the counter inside the Main Ingredient store.
With your Nightshade offering ready, make your way to Mephala’s Temple and present it to the statue between midnight and dawn (12 AM – 5 AM).
How to Kill Nivan Dalvilu and Frame the Ulfgar Clan in Oblivion Remastered
Mephala asks players to stealthily eliminate Nivan Dalvilu and Hrol Ulfgar at a location known as Bleaker’s Way, and falsify evidence on their bodies to implicate each other in their deaths. Let us begin by taking out Nivan Dalvilu. It would be best to wait until midnight and employ lockpicks to enter his house undetected, then kill him without waking him if possible. If not, ensure there are no witnesses present during the encounter. Once you’ve found the Dalvilu Ceremonial Dagger on a table near the east wall, take it as it will later be used against Hrol Ulfgar.
With Nivan Dalvilu deceased, proceed to Hrol Ulfgar’s residence. In the room just before the bedroom, you should find the Ulfgar Family Ring. Grab this ring and then place it on Nivan Dalvilu’s corpse to complete the ruse.
How to Kill Hrol Ulfgar and Frame the Dalvilu Clan in Oblivion Remastered
To falsely accuse and kill Hrol Ulfgar, first, secure the Dalvilu Ceremonial Dagger from Nivan Dalvilu’s residence. Once you have the dagger, enter Hrol Ulfgar’s House and climb the stairs (though it may be three stories high, keep quiet to avoid waking him). When you find him sleeping, carry out the assassination, then put the Dalvilu Ceremonial Dagger on his body as evidence of his guilt. Additionally, retrieve the Ulfgar Family Ring from Hrol’s corpse and place it on Nivan Dalvilu’s body if it hasn’t already been done.
How to Get the Ebony Blade in Oblivion Remastered
After the demise of Nivan and Hrol, players should make their way to Kirsten at the Bleaker’s Way Goodwill Inn. Upon informing her about the murders, she will step outside armed, triggering a fierce battle between the Ulfgar and Dalvil clans. The fighting will continue until only one clan remains victorious. After this, players should return to Mephala’s Shrine, where they will receive the Ebony Blade as a reward. This one-handed longsword possesses impressive stats for those who enjoy draining health and disabling sorcery.
