As a lifestyle expert and someone who has always been fascinated by the lives of famous artists, I find Find Me Falling to be a captivating exploration of personal growth, identity, and redemption. The story’s unique twist on the romantic comedy genre, combined with its beautiful setting in Cyprus, makes it a must-watch for anyone seeking an emotionally resonant film experience.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d describe it like this: In “Find Me Falling,” I, Stelana Kliris, the writer and director, take you on a captivating journey of love and self-discovery. The story unfolds on the enchanting island of Cyprus, where our beloved rockstar, John Allman, finds himself after his latest album bombs. But for John, Cyprus is more than just a beautiful getaway – it holds a deep personal significance that will be revealed as the story unfolds.
Famous rocker John Allman reconnects with his roots after a failed album
Harry Connick Jr., portraying John, is a former rock star whose most recent success dates back years. Following the failure of his latest album, he relocates to a quaint cliffside house in Cyprus as a new chapter. Unexpectedly, John finds himself neighbors with a cliff infamous for being the site of numerous suicides.
The foundation of this concept stemmed from a true experience in Sydney, where a man assisted those facing similar predicaments. I was intrigued by the question of how an individual unwilling to form connections would react in such circumstances.
As John acclimates, he interacts with the community, such as Captain Manoli, the police chief, who is eager to make his acquaintance despite John’s efforts to keep a low profile. Additionally, John bumps into Sia, an ex-love and muse behind his hit song titled “Girl on the Beach.”
Sia, with her esteemed doctor title on the island, helps John understand that there’s more to his decision to come back to Cyprus than just avoiding work pressures.
John and Sia’s romance reignites, yet Sia holds back, harboring personal mysteries. At the same time, John forms a bond with Melina, a local taverna singer aspiring to depart from Cyprus but finding herself trapped in her family’s grocery business. They collaborate on music, and John shares his latest composition titled “Find Me Falling.”

When I visited John’s house unexpectedly, I was taken aback to discover Melina in the kitchen. My heart skipped a beat as John revealed the shocking truth – Melina was my long-lost daughter. The implications of this revelation left me reeling, and I couldn’t help but wonder if John could be my father as well.
Sia shares that she decided to remain in Cyprus and bring up Melina on her own as she didn’t want her daughter to grow up in the disordered world of a rock star. However, during a live show, John announced to the audience that he is Melina’s father, creating tension among him, Sia, and Melina.
At the end of the film, John attempts to win Sia back over by singing to her. Initially, Sia remains unfazed, but eventually, she is moved by his heartfelt serenade. The story concludes a year later with John and Sia in a relationship, Melina pursuing her music ambitions, and their community harmoniously united.
Will there be a sequel to Find Me Falling?
According to Today, Stelana Kliris, the writer-director of “Find Me Falling” at Netflix, is keen on creating a sequel although an official confirmation is yet to be made by the streaming giant. She feels that there are still many aspects of the characters’ lives to be discovered, particularly as the movie transitions from being a romantic comedy to an ensemble piece. The concluding scene, where John, Sia and their friends come together, hints at potential future plot progressions.
Harry Connick Jr., in his role as John, recognizes opportunities for character development. Inspired by his real-life experience with his performing daughters, Connick imagines a character who manages both his music career and nurturing his child. Speaking to Deadline, the actor shared, “Two of our daughters are entertainers, I wholeheartedly support their achievements and joy day by day. However, taking a step back was an unfamiliar concept for me, as I see myself continuing in this line of work indefinitely.”
If Stelana asks him to come back for a sequel, he’s more than willing. He holds Kliris in high regard and is deeply impressed by her vision. According to the media, he shared, “Whatever project Stelana is working on, I’ll be part of it if she wants me. I have that much respect and admiration for her.”
Find Me Falling is available to stream on Netflix.
