According to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center, fraud complaints involving CVC kiosks have doubled in 2024, reaching 10,956 cases and $246.7 million in losses. The elderly, oh the poor souls, are the favorite targets of these scammers, losing more than two-thirds of all funds. 🧓💸
The non-compliance of CVC kiosk operators is nothing short of a scandal! FinCEN notes that many fail to register as money services businesses, opting instead to play the role of the lazy peasant avoiding work.
