Final ALIEN: ROMULUS Trailer Features a Facehugger Free-for-all

As a die-hard fan of the Alien franchise, I’ve seen my fair share of heart-stopping encounters with the terrifying Xenomorphs. But the latest trailer for Alien: Romulus has me on the edge of my seat in a way that none other have before. The sight of those iconic facehuggers crawling all over a derelict space station is enough to send shivers down any fan’s spine.

In the vastness of space, there’s no one around to hear your screams of fear. However, within the confines of a spaceship, your agonized cries will echo. That is, if you’re able to make a sound at all. The terror of a facehugger taking over your throat and turning you into an unwilling host leaves little room for such noises. Sadly, many unlucky scavengers in the film “Alien: Romulus” won’t get a chance to call out for help when they encounter the universe’s most dreadful creature. Their cries would only come later, when it’s already too late. The final trailer of this horror-action film is filled with scenes of those signature parasitic creatures rampaging around.

Twenty-First Century Films refers to “Alien: Romulus” as a movie that returns the Alien franchise to its original essence. Based on what we’ve seen so far, this is definitely the case. This new production by director Fede Alvarez (known for “Evil Dead” and “Don’t Breathe”), set between the first and second films, shares the same atmosphere and aesthetic as those earlier installments.

It appears that these colonizers didn’t just stumble upon bad luck when they entered the abandoned space station. Instead, they were met with a horrifying reality as they encountered the most terrifying life form in the universe – the facehuggers. These creatures seemed to be omnipresent, surrounding them in large numbers. The question remains, how did these facehuggers end up on the spacecraft? And what implications does this have for their already precarious survival situation? Given the terrifying transformations that baby Xenomorphs undergo, their chances don’t seem very promising.

Another version: The science fiction film “Alien: Romulus” is written by co-writer Rodo Sayagues, with Ridley Scott producing. The cast includes Cailee Spaeny (“Civil War”), David Jonsson (“Agatha Christie’s Murder is Easy”), Archie Renaux (“Shadow and Bone”), Isabela Merced (“The Last of Us”), Spike Fearn (“Aftersun”), and new acting talent Aileen Wu.

In “Alien: Romulus,” set to be released in theaters on August 16, 2024, we’ll discover later this summer how many of the characters will survive and how many will experience a Xenomorph infant bursting from their chest.
