Fiend Hunt Guide — Abomination

Key Points

  • Level 10 DMG Threshold — 222M.
  • 0 DEF and MRES, 100 Light DMG, 0 Dark RES
  • 6 initial SP, 4 SP gained per turn.
  • New Hire Seir is key to this battle, buffing your team whenever she gets hit by the many hits of the Fiend.
    • She will need her Cooldown Reduction potential.
    • Ideally Seir should also have the taunt potential from Demon’s Daughter.
  • Skill Sequence: C1 (×2) → S1 → C1 → S2 → S3 → C1 → S4 → S5
    • This sequence lines up with New Hire Seir’s uptime (use it off cooldown).
    • Use a set up team for team 1 (and swap to team 2 with Seir) if you need more SP to trigger C1 at the start of battle.
  • Bring DEF gear.
    • The unit tanking C1 (Seir if she’s in the team) will need damage reduction. Seir herself can grant herself 100% uptime damage reduction. Otherwise, consider Top Idol Helena.

Skill Rundown

C1

Ambitious Scream

As a seasoned veteran of countless battles and skirmishes, I must say that this Fiend fight requires a strategy as cunning as it is intricate. The stackable FormG buff, if executed correctly, can deal a formidable amount of damage, but only with the assistance of New Hire Seir’s CD potential.

Trigger: Stack 10 chains on the head area.

In simpler terms, initiate the fight by activating the conditional ability twice (provided there’s no need for a preparatory turn to make the ability activate).

Since only the conditional skills are provided by the villain as amplifiers, it is recommended that you employ the conditional skill on New Hire Seir, accumulating a total of 40 stacks. When C1 triggers four times, your team can receive up to an 880% damage boost, enabling you to deal massive damage to the villain for the remainder of the battle.

Yet, this Fiend erodes DEF, and because this effect accumulates, mere armor won’t suffice to lessen the damage. Damage resistance will be crucial for Seir’s survival.

S1

Pollution Claw

As a gamer, I recommend placing your troops strategically, with the intention of shielding them from incoming attacks. If you happen to possess the ability to taunt with Demon’s Daughter Seir, position her in the right corner and use her taunt before your next turn instead. This tactic could potentially draw enemy fire towards Seir, keeping your other units safer.

S2

Carnage Stream

A regular damaging skill that shouldn’t be scary if you have DEF gear.

S3

Zombie Spore

To execute this skill successfully, step aside if you don’t possess Seir’s taunt. However, if you do have it, position Seir in the right corner similar to before S1, then let her use the taunt against this attack. This will allow you to proceed with your usual attack sequence.

S4

Bio Bomber

Another regular damaging skill that can be mitigated by DEF gear.

S5

Pandemic

After your current team finishes, another team will step up while the game resets to Stage 1 (S1). The Fiend will remove any tiles that cannot be placed again during this reset. Just remember, the conditional skill doesn’t restart or refresh!

Hunting the Fiend

C1 (×2) → S1 → C1 → S2 → S3 → C1 → S4 → S5

In the course of this Monster Hunt, New Recruit Seir plays a crucial role. The monster possesses numerous multi-strike abilities, making Seir’s damage boost particularly effective (capable of reaching 54 stacks with proper alignment). To successfully execute the skill chain, you will require New Recruit’s cooldown potential.

As a gamer, I strategize that it’s crucial to time the Fiend’s multi-hit abilities with New Hire Seir’s non-action turns (S1 and S3). Seir’s damage reduction outfits will be essential for her survival against the DEF stripping Fiend, plus her self-healing capabilities. For those who don’t have Seir in their team, it might be wise to consider Top Idol Helena’s damage reduction instead.

The fiend also makes tiles undeployable, which will be very restrictive. Zenith can make this a non-issue, however, allowing your other allies to position anywhere without losing damage output. Do keep in mind not to mistakenly trigger C1 with Zenith when New Hire Seir’s on downtime.

DPS Review

Luvencia (with a 50% damage uptime) – During trials, her extraordinary multiplier excels in single-target scenarios like this one. Nevertheless, her single outfit requires a 3-turn cool-down.

Eleaneer, with approximately 66% damage mitigation uptime, offers robust multipliers. Her performance compared to Luvencia may depend on Luvencia’s specific attributes. Both characters have costumes with a cooldown of 5 turns.

In this battle, the Stray Cat Rou costume is the one you should use as it’s the most suitable. However, its damage multipliers are relatively low. Moreover, her area-of-effect (AoE) abilities aren’t effective against the “single target” Fiend in question.

Eclipse (almost constant 90% damage output) – While Eclipse has three different outfits, her Beach Vacation costume has an 11-turn cooldown, which means she doesn’t have continuous availability to use it. However, she can initiate Battle with Beach Vacation casted, allowing her to reuse the skill a few times after activating its conditional ability.

Fiend Nartas (has a 33% chance of causing damage): This creature is primarily physical, which means that Nartas deals his maximum damage against it. Although Nartas inflicts significant damage, his active time could use improvement.

Celia (100% Damage Uptime) – A reliable secondary DPS character who can also chain attacks for additional damage. Notably, only the Masquerade Bunny form of Celia possesses significant damage potential.
