Today saw the debut of the initial teaser for ‘Fantastic Four: First Footsteps’, and it’s definitely piqued interest. This first glimpse offers an introduction to the principal actors in what seems like a retro-futuristic parallel universe, set during the 1960s.
Each aspect echoes the ambiance – from their attire, environment, and intricate clues hidden within the film’s teaser and promotional content. Although the exact storyline is still shrouded in mystery, whispers and speculations offer an insight into what might unfold.
It’s said that Galactus targets Earth and its reality because of something related to a young Franklin Richards. This situation compels the Fantastic Four to leave, leading them to end up on Earth-616 – the main universe of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It’s uncertain how Marvel’s original family will transition to another universe, but given Reed Richards’ (Pascal) comic book background and his reputation as one of Marvel’s sharpest minds, it’s safe to assume he’ll play a key role in orchestrating this crossover.
The trailer has given us a hint that he is researching Einstein-Rosen bridge or, wormholes.
Researchers believe that wormholes may actually exist due to the fact that they align with Einstein’s theory of general relativity, a principle explaining how space and time are warped around massive bodies. The mathematics surrounding black holes and gravity imply that these “shortcuts” in space might indeed be feasible.
Although no definitive proof has been discovered so far, some researchers speculate that certain entities may survive under extremely harsh cosmic circumstances or be manufactured using extraordinary materials. However, the evidence backing up these claims is rather slim at present.
Wormholes are frequently employed as fictional means for interstellar journeys and time travel. Currently, they represent our only potential method for navigating the immense expanse of space in a practical timeframe. We may either construct one ourselves or, at best, exert control over one we stumble upon by chance.
Indeed, if Reed is intrigued by the idea of departing from his familiar universe, then it’s logical for him to delve into this concept. You may find it hard to believe, but under specific conditions, wormholes could serve as bridges connecting two distinct realities, and that’s what we refer to as interuniversal travel.
In simpler terms, some researchers propose that wormholes, if they truly exist, might serve as connections spanning across various universes or realities. If we could traverse such a wormhole, it wouldn’t merely transport us to another location, but potentially to an entirely distinct reality with unique laws and historical events.
Indeed, the concept of wormholes serving as gateways to entirely distinct realities is often proposed as a resolution to a conundrum arising from time travel. When an object or being travels back in time through a wormhole, it doesn’t re-emerge into its original universe but rather enters an alternate reality instead.
Intrigued by the imminent peril of their reality and finding myself with few alternatives, I can certainly understand Reed Richards’ keen interest in exploring that peculiar occurrence. Or maybe, just maybe, he somehow established contact with Earth-616 before our desperate flight became necessary?
In essence, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) doesn’t strictly rely on mathematical formulas and rare matter to facilitate interdimensional travel. Take a look at ‘The Marvels’ and Monica Rambeau as an example. Her encounter with the Rift, created by Dar-Benn using Quantum Bands, resulted in her transporting to a totally different universe. This seems to be the same realm depicted in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’
As a devoted fan, I must admit that I’m well aware of America Chavez’s ability to traverse various dimensions. However, it seems rather unlikely to me that she would be part of the Fantastic Four’s team roster.
