The second season of Disney’s *Wizards Beyond Waverly Place* finished with a surprising ending that stunned viewers.

The show’s final episode, called “The Wizard at the End of the World,” surprised viewers by revealing that Selena Gomez’s character, Alex Russo, is Billie’s mother – the young wizard she’d been mentoring throughout the series.

I was on the edge of my seat when Billie tried to escape! She totally filled the house with gummy bears – it was insane! While all that was happening, Alex, Justin, and Justin’s wife, Giada, were at the Wizard Tribunal trying to figure out what Lord Morsus was up to. They quickly found out something was really wrong, because one of the Tribunal members had been put under a dark spell. It’s getting so intense!

The situation came to a head when Billie ran away to look for Quentin, but instead found Lord Morsus pretending to be Justin. A powerful magical fight began, and during the battle, Billie unknowingly cast spells that revealed who her real parents were.

The episode became very sad when a flashback revealed young Billie pleading with Alex not to abandon her at wizarding school. Alex reassured his daughter they’d meet again, then erased her memories to protect her.

After the truth was revealed, Lord Morsus attempted to benefit from it, but things quickly fell apart when a portal between worlds unexpectedly opened. Ultimately, Alex made the ultimate sacrifice to save Billie, resulting in a deeply moving scene that left viewers heartbroken as the episode concluded with a touching family moment.

The show ended with Billie being welcomed into the Russo family, finally feeling like she belonged. However, the ending also left viewers with big questions: What exactly happened to Alex, and how will her actions impact Billie going forward?
