Netflix has ordered another season of Emily in Paris, bringing the total to six. Starring Lily Collins, the show remains a hit for the streaming service.
Netflix has quickly renewed the show for another season, less than three weeks after the release of season five, based on its viewership numbers.
The fifth season started off very successfully. Within the first 11 days, the show was viewed 26.8 million times globally, totaling 155 million hours of watch time. Because each season is only about six hours long, these numbers climbed quickly.
This season, Emily moved from France to Italy. She worked in Rome, opening a branch office for her marketing firm, and started a new romance. Ultimately, though, Emily chose to leave Italy and go back to Paris.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the creator of the show, Darren Star, explained Emily’s decision. He said she was choosing to fully embrace her life and career in Paris, things she had worked incredibly hard for. Ultimately, she realized her heart was truly set on living in Paris long-term, and it wasn’t just a temporary adventure.
The show’s creator, Darren Star, suggested that Emily and Gabriel’s on-again, off-again relationship might not be finished. Lucas Bravo, who plays Gabriel, has been a key part of the show’s love story from the start. Star emphasized that season six won’t force anything, but he believes a connection still exists between them. He explained, “I don’t think Emily and Gabriel would quickly get back together, but I do think people can reconnect.”
The fifth season included a large ensemble cast, with returning favorites like Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, William Abadie, and Lucien Laviscount. New actors joining the season, or appearing in recurring roles, included Eugenio Franceschini, Minnie Driver, Bryan Greenberg, and Michèle Laroque.
Okay, so let’s talk about who’s behind the scenes of Emily in Paris. It’s a pretty big team! Paramount Television Studios, along with Darren Star Productions and Jax Media, are all involved in bringing this show to life. And honestly, the list of executive producers is extensive – you’ve got Darren Star himself, plus Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, Andrew Fleming, and a whole bunch of others like Stephen and Alison Brown, Robin Schiff, Grant Sloss, and Joe Murphy. It’s clear a lot of experienced folks are working to make this show happen.
