Fans Outraged as Paul Becomes Marvel’s New Venom!

Word on the street is, a tweet about Paul going viral on X with close to a million views, hinting at him as Marvel’s brand new, revamped Venom.

In December, the brand new Venom comic series debuted, and issue number three dropped only last week. It seems there’s a major enigma surrounding the host of the symbiote – initially, I believed it was Luke Cage; however, recent speculation suggests it could instead be Paul, a character that Spider-Man enthusiasts have developed strong disdain for over time.

All-New Venom #6 solicit

As a die-hard Marvel Comics fan, I’m thrilled to share that the cover and details for All-New Venom #6 have been unveiled! The cover image showcases Venom facing off against none other than Mary Jane, now known as Jackpot. The plot summary hints at the identity of the new Venom being unmasked, and it seems MJ may not be pleased with who’s behind the suit.

“THE ORIGIN OF THE ALL-NEW VENOM!

Now, we’ve uncovered the identity of the All-New Venom… but the mystery deepens: What transpired post-Venom War? Why did this symbiote bond with this host, and why can’t they be parted? Jackpot faces off against Venom – and she might not appreciate what she discovers!

The new Venom is f-cking Paul

X user Worm on X thinks it’s Paul and is none too happy.

Indeed, it’s him! I can hardly contain my excitement that Paul is the new Venom. I may just burst with enthusiasm over this news!

The account followed up with more tweets revealing their huge disappointment.

Never have I felt this level of frustration before,” stated the account. “If it weren’t for the fact that even variant collectors might purchase this comic, there would definitely be a new one coming up.

Worm user went on to say, “Let me clarify that I’m more amused than angry. However, it’s important to note that I’m troubled. This appears to be a deliberate effort by Marvel editors to drag Venom comics into a contemporary Amazing Spider-Man-like predicament. It’s your choice, but I would caution against purchasing this comic.

The user stated, “I’d like editorial to be aware that continuously using rage-baiting tactics and dangling the possibility of revisiting an old dynamic (like they have been doing with Spider-Man over the past few years) for symbiote comics isn’t going to work. I hope this fails.

I completely agree with those fellow supporters who are displeased about the possibility of Paul as Venom. Just like X user Worm said, let’s express our dissatisfaction financially and make our voices heard. Here’s a glimpse into their sentiments, take a look below.

Who is Paul?

Paul is a character who debuted in the sixth volume of The Amazing Spider-Man, penned by Zeb Wells. He unexpectedly appeared as Mary Jane Watson’s new companion, following a six-month time jump that put Peter Parker at odds with his friends and loved ones.

Initially, Paul seemed enshrouded in ambiguity and intrigue, leaving fans puzzled due to his sparse background and unexpected significance. Gradually, it emerged that he was the offspring of Benjamin Rabin, a malevolent figure linked to Mayan mysticism, and had been imprisoned in a nightmarish, hell-like realm alongside MJ. Within this otherworldly place, they nurtured two children, who eventually unraveled as illusory creations orchestrated by Rabin himself.

I found myself embodying the symbol of editorial meddling in the eyes of Spider-Man enthusiasts, given my role as yet another obstacle between Peter and MJ – a separation Marvel has been subtly pushing since the One More Day storyline wiped their marriage off the books. To these fans, I was nothing more than a shallow plot tool instead of a well-rounded character, which sparked widespread annoyance and memes poking fun at my very existence.
