As a long-time fan who has witnessed Andy Serkis’ remarkable transformations through motion capture performances, I couldn’t be more thrilled about his casting as Knull in Venom: The Last Dance. From Gollum to Caesar, and even King Kong, Serkis has consistently delivered unforgettable characters that leave a lasting impact on audiences.
Within just a few days, the SSU plans to unveil Knull, also known as the King in Black – one of Marvel’s most formidable and captivating antagonists. Although he is still relatively new to Marvel comics, there has been considerable excitement building up towards the movie premiere.
Although we need to keep our anticipation in check since the director of “Venom: The Last Dance” hinted that Knull’s appearance is just the start, we can’t wait to catch even brief glimpses of him. However, from the promotional content available so far, it seems his screen time will be confined to only a handful of scenes.
It seems clear from the latest promotional material that Knull is likely to rely heavily on computer-generated imagery (CGI). However, even with such technology, a talented voice actor is essential to bring the character to life authentically. And it looks like Andy Serkis may be stepping into this role, although this hasn’t been confirmed officially yet. Nevertheless, the similarities in voice make it highly probable that Serkis will indeed be involved with the project.

It’s not too shocking that rumors about Andy Serkis playing Knull arose since he was initially linked to the film. This is because such speculations were already circulating around when the character was first announced.
Andy Serkis is widely recognized for his innovative motion capture acting, most notably portraying Gollum in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Caesar in the Planet of the Apes trilogy. His illustrious career also spans roles as King Kong in the 2005 film of the same name, Ulysses Klaue in Black Panther (2018), and Supreme Leader Snoke in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015).
With his wealth of expertise, Serkis has consistently been an ideal candidate for the part, and the news of his casting has received an incredibly enthusiastic reception from fans.
