Fans Create a Hilarious Theory Making Marvel Movies’ “Bad” Quality Canon to the MCU After Iron Man’s Death

As a die-hard MCU fan with over two decades of watching Marvel movies under my belt, I must say that this theory about Iron Man being the anchor for Earth-616 is quite intriguing. It certainly aligns with how I’ve felt about the quality of the movies since Tony Stark took his final breath in Endgame – let’s just say it’s been a bumpy ride!

In this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) unveiled several thrilling surprises. Fans got an exclusive peek at upcoming projects like “Thunderbolts” and “Fantastic Four: First Footsteps”, and it was disclosed that Robert Downey Jr. is rejoining the MCU, portraying Doctor Doom this time around.

Speaking as a dedicated fan here, I must say that the latest collaboration between Deadpool and Wolverine has been a game-changer for Disney, who’ve had some tough times financially in recent years. To be honest, I’ve noticed that Phases 4 and 5 haven’t always gone smoothly, with films like The Marvels and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania from last year experiencing significant setbacks. But this new project has definitely brought a fresh wave of excitement!

Instead of merely experiencing financial losses, fans found themselves gradually losing enthusiasm as they noticed a perceived dip in quality. Notably, Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe didn’t strike a chord with many viewers and is often criticized, being the lowest-rated phase. Most of its productions have received mixed reviews at best.

In an innovative twist for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Deadpool and Wolverine presented a key idea known as the “anchor.” An anchor is a vital component that sustains a universe’s existence, and its demise initiates the decay of that reality. This process of timeline collapse can span from a brief day to millennia. In Deadpool’s world, the anchor was none other than Logan (Wolverine), who met his end in the 2017 movie titled Logan.

In an attempt to hasten the destruction of the timeline, Mr. Paradox employed Timeripper, a device that significantly advances the narrative of the comic series “Deadpool & Wolverine“. After the demise of the Anchor, Deadpool embarks on a mission to reestablish his original timeline.

Fans have come up with an engaging and amusing idea that the Iron Man who perished in Endgame might have been Earth-616’s anchor point. This theory proposes that Iron Man’s death triggered a swift decay of the timeline, causing the underwhelming quality of projects in Phases 4 and 5.

In other words, it means that the subpar nature of these Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) projects was deliberately planned and is an essential aspect of their storylines from the beginning.

In this alternate interpretation, it could be logical if Iron Man was the one since the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to have declined after his demise. However, given the inviolable nature of the timeline, it might make sense for a character who is essentially immortal or has extended lifespan, such as Thor, to be the key figure instead.

Regrettably, not many excellent films have emerged from the Marvel Cinematic Universe lately.

While entertaining, there’s some credibility to this idea. Robert Downey Jr.’s remark about always wearing a different mask implies that he may reprise his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe again.

Contrarily, certain whispers hint that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man may serve as the foundation for the timeline of Earth-616. Thus, the outcome could swing in either direction.
