Fans of the show Bridgerton have noticed a curious detail in the latest season. After the first four episodes were released on January 29th, viewers began discussing a missing glove that seems like a small mystery within the larger story.
The storyline involves Sophie Baek, played by Yerin Ha, and a white glove meant to be a significant item, similar to Cinderella’s glass slipper. During a romantic moment with Benedict Bridgerton, he removes one of her gloves, and she has to quickly leave, accidentally leaving it behind.
While the show focuses on Benedict’s attempts to find the mysterious woman in silver, many fans are more concerned about the fact that Sophie also seems to have lost the other glove. After being sent away by her stepmother, she moves to a new home, and the remaining glove disappears without explanation.
Okay, so as a total movie buff, I’ve been diving into the details of this film, and everyone online is noticing something weird. When Sophie went to Benedict’s cottage, it looked like she didn’t bring her luggage with her. One fan pointed out that the glove she lost was probably in those bags, which makes it reappear so easily feel like a big plot hole! Honestly, people are hilariously stuck on it, and some are even joking about whether another servant might have secretly grabbed the glove and saved it. It’s become a whole thing!
Fans have noticed several hidden details in the new episodes, though not all were likely put there on purpose. For example, viewers spotted a modern Band-Aid on Katie Leung’s ear – she plays Araminta – probably used to cover a piercing. Social media users quickly pointed out the mistake, joking about whether Band-Aids were a new fashion trend in the show’s time period.
The cast of the show is staying busy even while preparing for the upcoming second part. Luke Thompson, now the lead as Benedict, is currently filming the thriller Elsinore, a new take on the story of Hamlet. Yerin Ha is enjoying the popularity of her recent Netflix series, The Survivors, and recently appeared at the Paris premiere of Bridgerton, looking much more glamorous than her character’s uniform.
Season four, inspired by Julia Quinn’s book An Offer From a Gentleman, is being celebrated for its realistic portrayal of class differences. Viewers are especially happy to see Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley return as Anthony and Kate, after they weren’t featured at the start of the season.
As the last four episodes become available on February 26th, fans are eager to find out if Benedict will finally open the glove he’s been holding – it reportedly has a clear family symbol on it that he’s been overlooking.
Even if the lost glove never turns up, the connection between the main characters has already made this season a hit with viewers. With elements of a classic fairytale and plenty of charming mishaps, there’s lots to discuss as we anticipate the finale.
