Thomas Markle Junior, Meghan Markle’s half-brother, has openly criticized her latest Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” by suggesting that the portrayed childhood memories may not be entirely truthful.
Speaking with TalkTV, I expressed my perspective on Meghan’s assertions about her upbringing, suggesting that such tales might be part of the fabricated narratives she shared with the royal family to elicit compassion.
Thomas Markle Jr., who hasn’t spoken to his half-sister for more than a decade, disagreed with her claim of being a kid who relied on fast food and microwave meals. He pointed out that they weren’t financially struggling and she didn’t have to scrimp at the Sizzler salad bar.
In addition, he argued that Meghan had been distorting her background by saying, “The whole world is aware of how she behaved towards her family, particularly her father, who provided her with so much. This is why people aren’t finding her story convincing.
Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, affectionately known as “Meghan”, discusses her passion for culinary arts, entertaining, and nostalgic recollections from her youth. In a heart-to-heart chat with actress Mindy Kaling, she casually revealed that she frequently dined at quick-service restaurants such as Taco Bell, Jack in the Box, and El Pollo Loco during her childhood years.
It appeared that Kaling looked taken aback and remarked that some folks might find it hard to imagine Meghan Markle having dined at Jack in the Box. With a chuckle, Meghan retorted that it was amusing how Kaling continued to use her birth name, mentioning that she now identifies herself as Sussex.
Meghan explained that she finds it fitting to utilize her royal title as a surname, as it symbolizes her connection with her children. She revealed that motherhood made her appreciate the significance of sharing a common family name, an aspect she hadn’t previously considered. For her, this shared last name now signifies a unique bond within their small family unit.
Thomas Jr. openly expressed criticism towards With Love, Meghan, stating it as inauthentic and expressing doubts about how his sister portrayed her childhood experiences. He asserted that Meghan hadn’t learned to cook during her upbringing. Despite initially watching the series, he later confessed that he soon found other more worthwhile ways to spend his time.
Ever since its debut on February 4th, the show “With Love, Meghan” has faced challenges in winning over viewers, as indicated by its low ratings on IMDb, according to Fox News. Critics have raised doubts about Meghan’s genuine portrayal, and the series has sparked much conversation online due to its depiction of her upbringing.
