A squabble over whether a token was a security, or just…air. They dropped the appeal, and the optimists started building castles on quicksand. Stablecoins, ETFs… the usual song and dance.
The problem is, the payments network and the token are two separate animals. Ripple can move money around without needing XRP. It’s like a fancy car needing a specific brand of gas – it’s a marketing angle, not a fundamental requirement. Investors are starting to see that. The narrative of a global commerce disruptor is fading, and with it, the price. I’d wager we’ll be looking at a dollar XRP before the year is out. It’s not a prediction, it’s an observation. The market doesn’t reward hope; it rewards results.
Dogecoin: A Meme’s Shadow
Dogecoin. Now there’s a story. A flicker of profit, if you timed it just right. A blink-and-you-missed-it opportunity. The rest of the time? A slow drift downward. It’s a meme, pure and simple. Unlike Bitcoin, Ethereum, or even XRP, it doesn’t solve a problem. It is the problem, if you’re looking for tangible value.
The price jumps on whispers and social media trends. Last November, it hitched a ride on the U.S. election. A new government efficiency department, dubbed DOGE. A coincidence, naturally. Investors briefly mistook a clever acronym for a fundamental shift. The illusion dissolved quickly. It always does.
Combine that with the headwinds facing the entire crypto market, and Dogecoin’s lack of a real foundation, and you’ve got a recipe for further decline. I don’t see a bottom. Just a slow, quiet fade. The market is a harsh teacher, and Dogecoin is about to get a failing grade. Some things aren’t worth saving, even at a discount.
