EYES OF WAKANDA Showrunner Reveals Plot Details and New Images

The much-anticipated animated series, Marvel’s “Eyes of Wakanda,” is set to premiere on Disney+ in August. Ryan Coogler serves as the executive producer, while Todd Harris takes the helm as showrunner. This Disney+ production promises an unprecedented exploration of the captivating nation of Wakanda that you’ve never experienced before. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Harris shared additional details about the spy storyline in “Eyes of Wakanda,” which features characters reminiscent of James Bond and unveiled some fresh visuals as well.

In Wakanda, the gaze will be on the Hatut Zaraze, a team of Wakandan agents known as the Dogs of War. Their objective is to retrieve perilous Vibranium artifacts dating as far back as the closing era of the Western Bronze Age.

In Marvel Comics, the clandestine enforcers known as Hatut Zaraze first appeared in issue #4 of Black Panther Volume 3. Their role is to protect Wakanda by taking down threats using whatever methods are necessary. The White Wolf, T’Chaka’s adopted son, led them, and their tactics were often brutal.

In the interview, Harris expressed his appreciation for everyone’s perspective on history. He began by explaining that the narrative unfolds at the tail end of the Western Bronze Age, which serves as the catalyst for a massive spy-espionage tale that echoes throughout time… The characters are reminiscent of Wakanda’s James Bond, with occasional female leads, and the captivating setting is none other than the magnificent Wakanda itself.

The “Eyes of Wakanda” will unite the networked nature of Marvel, the historical connections, and the shared humanity in one cohesive narrative.
