As a lifestyle expert with decades of experience in the entertainment industry, I’ve seen my fair share of high-profile personalities dealing with legal troubles. Travis Scott, however, seems to be taking this trend to a new level.
once more, Travis Scott is facing legal issues due to an argument with a hotel security guard in Paris. This incident adds to the rapper’s Sicko Mode, further increasing his list of legal complications. Over recent years, Scott has been involved in various controversies, such as inciting crowd rushes or speaking disparagingly about concert attendees.
In 2015, during Lollapalooza, the rapper was apprehended for inciting chaos and being held for disorderly conduct. This happened after he provoked fans to push past security and surge towards the stage. Similarly, at the Openair Festival in Switzerland, he urged the audience to assault a person who stole his shoe while crowd surfing. He continued to instigate the attack by shouting, “give him a rough time.”
2017 saw another unfortunate incident at Travis Scott’s Lollapalooza performance in Northwest Arkansas, with the rapper getting arrested for comparable misconduct following his show. In the same year, a fan filed a lawsuit against the rapper and event organizers due to an accident during the concert where she fell from a balcony as a result of the crowd rush.
The fan told the NY Post “I fell and hit the floor. Before I knew it, I was surrounded by security guards, who scooped me up.” He further revealed that Scott kept yelling at his guards to bring him on stage. “They didn’t put a backboard or a neck brace on me or anything, they just kinda lifted me up and pulled me around. Then they dropped me in front of the stage,” he added. The incident left him paralyzed.
The rapper’s shows have always been notoriously overcrowded and poorly organized. Regardless of some concert mishaps, he persisted with performances. However, when a crowd surge at Astroworld in 2021 resulted in 10 fatalities, the incident received significant media attention, and both Scott and his concert organizers faced intense public scrutiny.
In 2023, a musician originating from Houston was implicated for attacking a sound technician at Nebula, a nightclub situated in New York City. According to Rolling Stone’s account, when Mark (the sound technician) supposedly asked the rapper to lower the volume, the artist retaliated by throwing a punch that hit Mark in the head and caused $12,000 worth of damage to the sound system equipment, after which he left the premises.
Nevertheless, his representative countered the claim, stating, “It’s evident to anyone with a reasonable mind, upon viewing the video from the event where Scott was DJ-ing, that what it depicts is merely an interruption of Travis’s performance by someone who invaded his personal space aggressively.”
Approximately two months ago, the rapper found himself making headlines again due to an altercation involving disorderly conduct and trespassing on a yacht in Miami. According to TMZ’s report, he had a heated argument with the boat’s occupants, using profanities when the police were called to remove him from the scene.
Even though no fight occurred, the authorities noticed a distinct odor of alcohol on him, which they believed could have contributed to his unusual actions.
