In the game Avowed, it won’t take you long to notice that you’ll be sustaining significant damage during combat. For many battles, especially at the start, you’ll find yourself surrounded by numerous enemies, making it challenging to avoid all their attacks without using a large portion of your stamina for dodging rather than counter-attacking.

As your allies distract a few of these foes, it’s wise to ensure you’re well-armored for every skirmish to maximize your chances of survival and conserve resources. Some of the finest armors can be found scattered throughout The Living Lands, making them excellent choices for this purpose.

Light Unique Armor Locations

These armors are lightweight, as their names imply, so they won’t drain much of your stamina or essence. Yet, it’s worth noting that they offer less protection against enemy attacks.

  • The Many-Colored Doublet is a piece of armor that you can purchase from Meryn, a trader, who resides in the Market District of Paradis.

    This protective gear lessens the impact of incoming Fire, Ice, and Electric damage, and at the same time boosts your overall healing from all available sources.

  • You’ll discover the Yellowband Camp situated on the eastern part of Dawnshore too, and you will come across Arcanist’s Gambeson armor housed within a golden treasure chest here as well.

    It increases your maximum essence and you also deal higher damage from AoE attacks.

  • During the main quest “An Untimely End,” you’ll only be able to obtain Blackwing Armor if you choose to battle and conquer Ygwulf in the final encounter. After defeating him, you can pick up this lightweight armor from his remains.

    This armor significantly enhances damage during sneak attacks and also increases your speed when you’re in a crouching position.

  • You can buy Warmage’s Robe from the trader outside Naku Tedek in Emerald Stairs for 5,250 currency.

    As a gamer, I’ve found that this armor doesn’t just beef up my defense, but it also ramps up my spell-casting pace, making me even more formidable on the battlefield.

  • In the southeastern part of Fior Mes Iverno, located within the Emerald Stairs, you’ll find another piece of shop armor named Animancer’s Swallowtail. It’s recommended that you visit here prior to embarking on Naku Tedek’s main storyline to secure this item.

    The armor gives a staggering boost to your essence and a decent one to your carry capacity.

  • You can get your hands on Hjilde’s Handy Hide by successfully navigating the Practical Pockets treasure map located close to the Rangers Headquarters in Emerald Stairs.

    It can increase your maximum health while reducing the incoming damage from all the elements.

Medium Unique Armor Locations

This collection encompasses armor items that provide a reasonable balance, as they moderately reduce your stamina and essence, while simultaneously offering satisfactory defense.

  • You can obtain the Stelgaer’s Pride armor by deciphering the Intimidating Feline Codpiece treasure map located in Dawnshore.

    It allows your character to emit a primitive yell if they sustain excessive damage, and moreover, speeds up their stamina recovery rate.

  • The Vailian Breastplate is located within the residence of the Vidarro family, known as the mansion in Fior Mes Iverno. To find it, simply ascend the staircase and open the chest situated in the room to your left, which lies at the very start.

    Beyond reducing extra damage taken, this armor also boosts your movement pace.

  • The Eothasian Breastplate is hidden within the depths of the Infested Camp, positioned at the northwestern tip of Emerald Stairs, tucked away in a chest with a violet hue.

    This armor boosts your health regeneration from all resources concurrently, while it also enhances your damage resistance during daylight hours.

Heavy Unique Armor Locations

Ultimately, if your aim is to create a tank character who can absorb immense damage, choosing heavy armor is ideal since its damage reduction is exceptionally high.

  • Wayfarer’s Armor can be bought at the top shop in northern Paradis for 5,000 currency.

    It not only boosts your movement speed, but it also helps recover your health when you’re at less than 20% of your maximum.

  • The Steel Garrote Plate can be found within the Ruinous Cavern, taken from a fallen soldier, following the successful completion of your mission against the Nacib bounty objective.

    This armor boosts your Constitution by one level, and it retaliates against your attacker by dealing damage to them when the damage you receive exceeds 25% of your total health.

  • The Death Knight Armor is concealed within the Waterfall Cave, positioned to the left of Fior Mes Iverno. To discover it, simply dive into a water pool once you’re inside the cave, as that will lead you to the secret chamber where the armor is kept.

    As a thrilled admirer, I can’t help but share that this incredible piece boasts an impressive 30% resistance to frost accumulation. Plus, in the heat of battle, it even offers a potential health restoration when you sustain damage!

  • You can locate the Pauper’s Plate at the border of Wildwood Outskirts party camp, by moving towards the tiny structures marked on your map to the north of the camp. Ascend these buildings to uncover a golden treasure chest containing the armor you seek.

    This object boosts your Constitution by two stages and offers an additional 20% resistance against the buildup of shock.
