The latest expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is here, and it’s the largest set released yet! This marks the beginning of the game’s second year of new content.
Mega Rising (set B1) is a large expansion containing three booster packs. It’s similar in size to the game’s original expansion, Genetic Apex (set A1), but even bigger. Genetic Apex has 259 cards, and Mega Rising adds over 70 more to that!
Mega Rising introduces Mega Evolution to the game with powerful new Mega Pokémon ex cards that don’t cost much energy to use. However, there’s a catch: if your Mega Pokémon ex is knocked out, you immediately lose the game, as it awards your opponent three prize cards.
The Mega Rising expansion features 331 cards in total. This includes 226 standard cards, plus a variety of rarer cards: 24 Illustration Rares, 36 Special Illustration Rares (14 with rainbow borders), 3 Immersive Rares, and 3 Hyper Rares.
There are also 30 new Shiny Rare cards and 12 new Shiny Rare ex cards.
