Netflix is adding a lot of new content in January and February, including stand-up comedy specials, action movies, and family favorites. This week and at the beginning of February, they’ll release a mix of original shows and popular licensed movies and series, with something for everyone – from sci-fi to true-life stories. As usual, many new titles will become available on the 1st of the month. You can look forward to both classic 90s hits and newer, exciting thrillers to watch at home.
‘Mike Epps: Delusional’ (2026)

Mike Epps is back with a brand new stand-up special on Netflix, launching January 27th. Known for his relatable jokes and storytelling, Epps tackles everyday life with his signature humor. This special continues his successful partnership with Netflix, delivering high-energy comedy and a unique perspective. It’s called ‘Mike Epps: Delusional’.
‘Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb’ (2014)

As a huge fan of the Night at the Museum series, I’m really excited for the third movie! It drops on streaming this Sunday, February 1st. This time around, Larry Daley—played by Ben Stiller, who’s back for more—heads to London and the British Museum. He’s on a mission to save the Tablet of Ahkmenrah and all the magic it holds before it’s lost forever. What makes this one especially poignant is that it features the final on-screen performances from the incredible Robin Williams and Mickey Rooney. It’s going to be an emotional ride seeing these historical figures embark on an international adventure to ensure they aren’t forgotten.
‘Copshop’ (2021)

As a total action movie buff, I’m really excited about this one! It’s directed by Joe Carnahan and drops on February 1st. The story is about a really smart criminal who intentionally gets thrown in jail to lay low, but things go sideways when a deadly assassin shows up inside the police station. It quickly turns into this incredibly tense, strategic battle between the cops and a professional killer, and it stars Gerard Butler and Frank Grillo – so you know it’s going to be good! It’s a really gritty, high-stakes situation all contained within one location, which I always love.
‘Independence Day’ (1996)

Get ready to relive a classic! Starting this Sunday, February 1st, ‘Independence Day’ is hitting streaming services, and trust me, it still holds up. This movie is the one where aliens decide Earth looks like a good place to take over, and it’s up to Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum to lead the fight back. It’s a total blast from the ’90s, and back then, the special effects were absolutely mind-blowing. If you’re looking for a fun, action-packed sci-fi flick, this is a must-see – or, in this case, a must-re-stream!
‘Night at the Museum’ (2006)

The first movie in the popular fantasy series becomes available to stream on February 1st. It’s about a dad who gets a job as a night watchman at the Museum of Natural History to support his son. He quickly finds out that an old Egyptian artifact magically brings all the museum’s displays to life at night! Larry, the security guard, has to figure out how to handle the resulting chaos, which includes a fun-loving T-Rex and a bunch of historical characters.
‘Faith in the Flames: The Nichole Jolly Story’ (2025)

I’m really looking forward to this new movie coming to Netflix on February 1st! It’s a true story about Nichole Jolly, a nurse who lived through the horrific Camp Fire in Paradise, California back in 2018. It sounds incredibly powerful – the film focuses on how she managed to stay strong, relying on her faith, while desperately trying to save people during that devastating wildfire. From what I’ve heard, it’s a really moving and dramatic look at how the whole community pulled together and the amazing courage of people like Nichole who were on the front lines.
‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ (1993)

Robin Williams’ heartwarming comedy, ‘Mrs. Doubtfire,’ is coming back to the streaming service on February 1st. The movie tells the story of a divorced voice actor who cleverly disguises himself as an elderly woman so he can continue to be a part of his children’s lives. It’s known for winning an Oscar for its amazing makeup and was a huge box office success in the early ’90s. ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ is still loved today for its touching story and hilarious moments.
‘Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates’ (2016)

This R-rated comedy, based on a true story, arrives on the streaming service February 1st. It follows two brothers who try to find nice dates for their sister’s Hawaiian wedding by posting an online ad. Things get chaotic when the women they find end up being even wilder party animals than they are! Starring Zac Efron, Adam DeVine, Anna Kendrick, and Aubrey Plaza, it’s a funny movie about family, relationships, and letting loose.
‘Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian’ (2009)

The second installment in the ‘Night at the Museum’ series comes out on February 1st. In this adventure, Larry Daley heads to the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., to save his friends, who have been moved there for safekeeping. The film features new historical figures like Amelia Earhart and Al Capone as the magical tablet’s power spreads to more exhibits. ‘Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian’ is much bigger and more expansive than the first movie, taking the magical world to a new level.
Tell us which of these new arrivals you are most excited to stream this week in the comments.
