In a more casual, straightforward manner: Vivian stands out as the Thorns’ real pain in the neck, and the optimal way to construct a build for her in Every Day We Fight primarily focuses on inflicting immense damage on opponents.
In the strategy game with roguelike and turn-based elements, as your characters grow stronger, you can use Skill Points to acquire their special talents. Each Thorn character has three categories where you can invest, each offering distinct skills and bonuses. While you’ll eventually earn enough experience to unlock most of what you desire (though not everything since some abilities prevent others from being chosen), the process takes time. Having a plan for which abilities to prioritize first will help you get started more efficiently.
In addition, you have the flexibility to return your Skill Points whenever you choose and redistribute them at your convenience, encouraging exploration. This beginner’s tutorial will walk you through constructing Vivian as a damage-dealing character.
Skill priorities for Vivian in EDWF
Vivian is versatile with exceptional skills overall, however, her talents truly shine in offense. Her key ability is Kill Assist, which empowers her to act swiftly when allies reduce enemies to a specific health level. This feature lets her quickly eliminate the enemy, sparing both characters Action Points and instantly removing them from the battlefield before they can seek safety that might save their life.
It’s suggested that you acquire “Refiller Killer” and “Assisted Boost” next. “Refiller Killer” grants Vivian a free reload when she eliminates an enemy using her Reflex Action, which is particularly effective when employing the Longhaul or Rattler. “Assisted Boost”, on the other hand, increases Vivian’s damage and can accumulate with the bonuses that Leo offers, significantly enhancing her damage per second (DPS).
Vivian’s main strength is equally impressive. Instead of saying “Hologram,” consider “Decoy Hologram.” Then proceed to “Explosive Decoy” and “Multiple Decoys.” This allows Vivian to deploy a decoy hologram onto the battlefield, drawing enemy fire until it’s destroyed, at which point it sets fire to the oil it has spread on the ground. Essentially, you can think of this ability as a tactical replacement for a frag grenade, with the added advantage that enemies won’t consider evading. This makes it an excellent choice for managing choke points. “Multiple Decoys” also reduces its cooldown, enabling you to use it as frequently as needed.
In the third branch, significantly boost Vivian’s durability by obtaining Health Coverage, Defensive Coating, and Fragmented Advantages. The initial two options increase her hit points and a regenerating barrier, while the latter skill is another damage enhancement for Vivian, which activates when her barrier breaks.
Best weapon for Vivian in EDWF
Vivian’s equipment, the Longhaul, is ideal for her as it transforms her into an exceptional finisher of opponents. The high damage and extended reach of the Longhaul make it superb for closing in on targets, especially since its main vulnerability – heavy AP consumption due to frequent reloading – is neutralized by Vivian’s Refiller Killer. With the various boosts that Vivian can receive, the base damage of the Longhaul can be significantly amplified, giving you the chance to eliminate even elite foes with just a few shots.
