The Super Bowl LIX has passed, leaving behind only recollections. By memories, we’re referring to the movie trailers, commercials, and promos shown during the game – the crucial elements. Which upcoming movies capitalized on the NFL’s grand spectacle to entice viewers? Here are all the films that provided football enthusiasts and even those who just tolerate sports with additional reasons to be thrilled.
Thunderbolts*
During the Super Bowl broadcast, viewers caught a glimpse of a brief teaser for Thunderbolts, but Marvel Studios unveiled a complete trailer for the movie online instead. This new trailer is outstanding and effectively highlights the emotional aspect suggested by the film’s title, as well as the formidable villain who can reduce New York City residents to ashes, reminiscent of Dr. Manhattan.
Jurassic World Rebirth
As much as I’d love to cheer for the Eagles in this year’s Super Bowl, it feels like the dinosaurs are stealing the spotlight again! Universal Pictures just dropped an exhilarating teaser for Jurassic World Rebirth, and it sure does pack a powerful prehistoric punch into such a short promo.
How To Train Your Dragon
Hiccup and Toothless joined them in departing Isle of Berk for New Orleans on Super Sunday, starring in their own ad for the upcoming live-action “How To Train Your Dragon.” As with every advertisement for this film, it was effective for us. Needless to say, having access to one of the most iconic movie scores enhances its appeal.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning
In this instance, we’re all set to embark on the journey, and by “go” we’re referring to Tom Cruise yet again teetering on the edge of an airplane in the Super Bowl advertisement for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.
F1
With a roaring engine sound, Warner Bros.’ upcoming Formula 1 movie titled “F1” featuring Brad Pitt promises an exhilarating ride. To be honest, just hearing that noise got us pumped for the film. This short teaser has us eagerly anticipating the movie.
Novocaine
Jack Quaid’s enthusiasm for portraying on-screen injuries found its expression during the Super Bowl, with a commercial for his upcoming film titled “Novocaine“. In this movie, he stars as a character who is incapable of feeling physical pain, an aspect that others exploit to their advantage.
Live-Action Lilo & Stitch
Disney’s reimagined version of “Lilo & Stitch,” their live-action take, got an entertaining advertisement with a football theme. It showcased everyone’s beloved little blue experiment causing chaos on a football field. This promotion was undoubtedly the most enjoyable, unique, and imaginative among all the movie trailers shown during the Super Bowl.
Smurfs
It’s not enough to simply replace Rihanna with Smurfette in a movie without causing a stir, and that’s exactly what the latest Smurfs film managed to do – it made a splash with its own Super Bowl commercial. The ad introduced those iconic little blue characters into our real-world setting.
It’s unclear if they caught the Super Bowl during their visit, but it’s great that they (and many others) added to the excitement of Super Bowl Sunday for film enthusiasts with those trailers.
