‘Euphoria’ Season 3 Finally Has a Release Date — Watch the Intense New Trailer Now

The popular HBO series Euphoria is returning! A new trailer released on Wednesday confirmed the premiere date for season three: April 12th. This season jumps forward five years, showing what happened to the characters as they navigate life as young adults.

Series creator Sam Levinson has given fans a preview of the upcoming season, explaining that it will focus on the characters navigating life after school. He told Entertainment Weekly, “The season is really about being on your own, without the structure and support of high school.” Levinson emphasized that the show wouldn’t revisit the high school setting, despite that being common in other series. The five-year time jump felt right because it would place the characters past college age.

The new trailer reveals significant developments for the characters. Zendaya’s character, Rue, is now in Mexico, struggling with debt and a connection to a drug dealer named Laurie. Meanwhile, Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) are engaged, married, and living a suburban life. Jules (Hunter Schafer) is attending art school, Maddie (Alexa Demi) is working at a Hollywood talent agency, and Lexi (Maude Apatow) has a job assisting a showrunner, played by new cast member Sharon Stone.

The third season will introduce several new actors, like Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth, Natasha Lyonne, Rosalía, Marshawn Lynch, Sam Trammell, and Asante Blackk. Familiar faces Eric Dane, Chloe Cherry, Dominic Fike, Nika King, and Colman Domingo are returning. Unfortunately, Storm Reid, Austin Abrams, and Javon Walton won’t be appearing this season. The show is also deeply impacted by the loss of Angus Cloud, who was loved by fans for his role as Fezco and sadly passed away in July 2023.

Fans have been waiting a long time for the new season – over four years since the second season aired on HBO. The delay happened because of several things, including difficulty scheduling the actors, creator Sam Levinson working on another show for HBO called The Idol, and reports of disagreements between Levinson and Zendaya, as discussed in a recent article in The Hollywood Reporter.

Season three will follow the characters as they deal with the ups and downs of life after graduating high school and begin to navigate adulthood. Expect familiar faces, new characters, and plenty of drama as the story unfolds, leaving fans excited to see what happens next.
