As a passionate film enthusiast, I’ve got some news that might disappoint fellow Marvel fans. The release dates for “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Secret Wars,” the upcoming blockbusters from Disney and Marvel Studios, have been pushed back. So, instead of eagerly waiting at the theater, we’ll have to bide our time a little longer.

The dates have been pushed back, with Avengers: Doomsday moved from May 1 to December 18, 2026.

Avengers: Secret Wars is moving from May 7 to December 17, 2027.

The delay comes with filming having started in the UK about a month ago.

Marvel also has The Fantastic Four: First Steps coming out on July 25.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day gets released on July 31, 2026.

Why have The Avengers movies been delayed?

The action clearly provides the Russo brothers additional time for script development on both movies. It’s even speculated that they’ve been shooting without a finalized screenplay, which explains why there’s a delay in release.

In the Marvel Universe, it’s common knowledge that they produce their movies using a flexible approach, where they film scenes while also making decisions as they go along.

Typically, they hold off on incorporating numerous elements, delegate action sequences to secondary directors, and polish the film through additional shoots during the final stages of production.

Plot

As a passionate movie-goer, I recently got wind of some exciting news coming out of a Japanese comic convention – hints about the upcoming reboots of “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Secret Wars” within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This aligns perfectly with what the Russo brothers have been sharing in their interviews, making me even more eager for these epic tales to unfold on the silver screen.

Looking ahead, the eagerly awaited Avengers film titled “Avengers: Doomsday” is slated for release in a year’s time. Following a gap of seven years since the thrill of “Endgame,” the Marvel Cinematic Universe promises to reach its zenith again. Robert Downey Jr., reprising his role, is back with a bang as the antagonist Doctor Doom! The Russo brothers, who steered “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Endgame” to triumph, will be at the helm once more. Let’s embark on this journey together towards the next chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

At the convention, Joe Russo announced that the upcoming story would be a spectacular two-part saga spanning over a decade, featuring numerous characters and intricate plotlines.
