As part of a series called Famous Last Words, a final interview with Eric Dane was recently released, fulfilling a promise that it would only be shared after his death. In the heartfelt conversation, filmed while he looked directly at the camera, he spoke to his children, Billie and Georgia. He shared, “These words are for you. I did my best, even when I struggled. We had a wonderful life together, didn’t we? I’ll always cherish our memories at the beach – in Santa Monica, Hawaii, and Mexico – watching you two play in the ocean. Those were truly heavenly days.”

He then shared four important life lessons, starting with the importance of living in the moment. He encouraged the audience to appreciate every experience and avoid getting stuck in the past, something he wished he’d done differently. The actor also expressed a desire for his children to find something to be passionate about – whether it’s a person or a hobby – and to make their own choices. He spoke about his love for acting, acknowledging that it had brought both incredible highs and difficult lows. Finally, he advised finding friends who will support you through thick and thin, and who aren’t afraid to be honest with you, as those are the people who truly help you grow.

Finally, he urged everyone to never stop striving to live, no matter how difficult things get. He encouraged them to face challenges – whether related to health or anything else – with courage and determination, and to never give up. He powerfully stated that while the disease was weakening his body, it would never break his spirit.

Following a private family request during this time of mourning, Eric Dane has released a statement. He and his wife, Rebecca Gayheart, welcomed their two children in 2010 and 2011, and are now receiving support from friends, colleagues, and fans.
