Recently released Justice Department documents show over 100 emails connected to Jeffrey Epstein that mention Batman. These emails suggest a long-lasting and unusual fascination with the character, appearing in discussions about Hollywood events, purchases of Batman-related items, gifts of artwork, and, disturbingly, in personal messages.
The emails cover a period of several years and reveal Batman showing up in a surprisingly wide range of situations. These range from public events like movie premieres and online fan discussions to private conversations dealing with finances, power dynamics, and even threatening language.

Epstein Attended Batman v Superman Premiere and After Party
Emails show that Jeffrey Epstein went to the New York City premiere and after-party for the movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Emails reveal staff members worked together to handle details like getting tickets to guests, assigning seats, and ensuring everyone could get in. Hollywood publicist Peggy Siegal helped obtain passes and finalize plans for the after-party. The conversations frequently mention Radio City Music Hall and arrangements for later that night.
Reports surfaced in 2019 that Epstein was at the event, specifically the after-party, with Siegal. When one studio executive was questioned about why a convicted sex offender was present, they chose not to respond.

Emails Show Coordination for Tickets and Event Access
A series of messages details the logistical efforts behind Epstein’s attendance, including:
- Assigning staff to pick up tickets
- Confirming four seats and after-party passes
- Verifying Epstein’s name on security door lists
- Addressing last-minute changes tied to his travel
Emails reveal that Jeffrey Epstein’s appearances weren’t accidental; they were carefully planned. He was able to attend these events because of his friendship with Peggy Siegal, who also worked with Ben Affleck and invited Epstein to several of Affleck’s movie premieres. Siegal also shared inside information with Epstein about the Oscars and actors like Anne Hathaway, Christian Bale, and Christopher Nolan.

Batman Artwork Gifted for 80th Anniversary
Other communications show Jeffrey Epstein received framed Batman and Superman prints celebrating the 80th anniversary of the characters.
An email described the items as exceptionally appealing, highlighting that they had been professionally framed as a gift. The message emphasized the gift was tailored to Epstein’s personal tastes.

Emails Confirm Purchase of Nine Batman Batarang Knives
Records show that in a separate purchase, Jeffrey Epstein bought nine knives shaped like batarangs from Amazon as part of an order confirmation.
The sheer number of items suggests his interest in Batman went far beyond just watching movies or attending events – he actively collected Batman merchandise.

Batman Films, Deadpool and Pop Culture Shared Casually in Emails
Epstein shared and received updates about Batman, including an email about the first teaser trailer for the movie Batman v Superman, directed by Zack Snyder.

A writer emailed Epstein about a movie they wanted to see together, saying it was even better than “Batman v Superman.” They asked if he’d seen “Deadpool” yet.
The informal writing style sounds like regular fan conversations, showing that Batman movies came up often in Epstein’s private messages and that others were aware of his interest in the films.

Emails Show Social Overlap With Batman Film Creators
One email chain includes Elon Musk, Nicholas Pritzker, and Epstein.
During their conversation, Musk inquired if Jonathan Nolan—brother of Christopher Nolan and a co-writer of Batman Begins—would be available to join them for dinner.
The emails show the people involved knew each other, but there’s no evidence they talked about Batman-related work, teamed up on anything, or did anything improper.

Emails Reference “Batman” in Disturbing Non-Fandom Contexts
Beyond its use in popular culture, the name “Batman” appears in some emails in a way that is actually quite concerning.
Based on these conversations, “Batman” seems to be a nickname for an actual person, rather than a reference to the superhero.
The conversations revolve around money, education, and controlling behavior. They include discussions of monthly payments, reliance on someone financially, dishonesty, attempts to manipulate, and direct threats to end all support.
One conversation reveals Epstein trying to control someone by making continued assistance dependent on their compliance and honesty. Another mentions monthly payments from a person nicknamed “Batman” to someone who relied on this financial support.
The emails don’t identify who “Batman” refers to, but the way people communicate shows a definite imbalance of power and a controlling dynamic. This is very different from the generally friendly and enthusiastic fan interactions found in other parts of the records.

Someone else mentioned finding a Batman-themed item, possibly a toy or image, and shared it with a smiley face. They also referred to some files that aren’t clear from the context.

A Pattern That Raises Serious Questions
The emails reveal Batman frequently appeared in Epstein’s communications, mentioned in connection to things like movie premieres, merchandise, gifts of artwork, and, disturbingly, in private conversations.
As I’ve been digging through these newly released documents, it’s been a really strange experience. Some of the messages are just typical fan mail or show the kind of Hollywood connections you’d expect. But then others… they’re deeply unsettling and reveal a really disturbing side to Epstein’s personal conversations. A lot of it is still unclear, and not everything makes sense, but the sheer contrast between the normal and the disturbing is what really hits you.
