As a longtime Marvel fan who’s been through the ups and downs of the MCU, I can confidently say that the upcoming “Marvel Zombies” series is shaping up to be an absolute game-changer. The D23 panel this year really whet my appetite for this show, and hearing about the release date in October 2025 just makes the wait feel even more unbearable!
Without a doubt, Marvel Zombies stands out as an upcoming show that’s generating quite a buzz. After being in the works for some time, there’s been a surge of updates regarding this series, particularly since Marvel Studios has been putting extra emphasis on their animation division.
At the Marvel Animation D23 gathering this year, attendees were given a sneak peek of upcoming footage for the upcoming series, which ignited a lot of enthusiasm among the audience.
In San Francisco, Andrews and Winderbaum’s creation depicted the final survivors, which included Shang-Chi and Katy, being saved by agents belonging to the Ten Rings organization. Wenwu intervened but tragically offered his life when Shang-Chi was bitten by a zombie, aiming to halt the contagion from further spreading.
In the span of five years, Shang-Chi guides his band across a barren landscape, reminiscent of “The Road Warrior.” However, their trek is disrupted when Skrulls attempt to swipe their livestock. Yet, prepared for such confrontations, Shang-Chi and potentially Jimmy Woo, stand resolute in defending their herd.
It seems likely that Shang-Chi and Kamala Khan, who we previously talked about, will both play significant roles in the upcoming series.
The latest reports suggest that the series will debut on Disney+ in October 2025. Additionally, new illustrations have been unveiled, depicting certain team members gearing up for a fight against zombies – characters we haven’t seen before.

In this upcoming series, we’ll present various interpretations of Marvel Cinematic Universe characters such as Yelena Belova, Hawkeye’s protégé Katy, Kate Bishop, the Red Guardian, Jimmy Woo, Death Dealer, Shang-Chi, and his father Wenwu.
Additionally, you’ll find undead variants of characters such as Hawkeye, Captain America (Steve Rogers), Abomination, Ava Starr, Scarlet Witch, Captain Marvel, Ikaris, and Okoye in it too.
The series has officially been given a mature audience rating (TV-MA), implying it could be quite intense or violent, according to Brad Winderbaum’s suggestions. Comprising only four episodes, this production is being referred to as a significant event rather than a typical miniseries.
