Epic Games, the creators of Fortnite, are firmly addressing the issue of cheating in their game, especially among competitive players. They’ve been actively penalizing those who seek an unjustified edge. In a recent legal battle, they successfully sued a player from Oceania named Morgan “RepulseGod” Bamford. The outcome of this case serves as a stern warning to anyone considering cheating in Fortnite.
RepulseGod and his teammate, Jace, secured their place in the 2023 Fortnite FNCS Global Championship by triumphing at the FNCS Major 3 tournament. Their victory earned them an invitation to compete in Copenhagen against other players vying for a piece of the nearly $4 million prize pool. Upon their arrival, it was revealed that RepulseGod had violated the rules, and Epic Games disqualified him from the Global Championship.
Instead of playing on his own, RepulseGod chose to let another player named Forbes use his Fortnite account during a competition with Jace. This action violates the rules of Fortnite, particularly in major tournaments. Consequently, when Epic Games discovered this deception, both players were disqualified and promptly sent back home.
It seems that professional Fortnite players, Jace and Repulse, have been disqualified just a day before the $4 million FNCS Copenhagen tournament. Allegations suggest that Repulse sold his account to an established cheater, who then partnered with Jace on this illicitly acquired account to triumph in the FNCS grand finals…

Beyond simply disqualifying RepulseGod from the tournament, Epic Games pursued a lawsuit against him, successfully demonstrating in court that he used unauthorized means to secure his qualification. The consequence was severe: a punishing penalty was imposed.
- Permanent Tournament Ban – RepulseGod is now banned from all Fortnite competitions forever.
- Prize Money Donated to Charity – The winnings he obtained unfairly were taken away and given to charity.
- Forced Public Apology – He had to upload a video on his YouTube channel apologizing for his actions.
- Monetary Payout – Epic Games received a financial settlement from him as part of the lawsuit.
Using Fortnite unfairly by sharing accounts or cheating in any way is always a losing move. We’ve taken action against a player who did this to gain an edge in FNCS qualification, and as a result, they are now permanently banned from all Fortnite tournaments and their unwarranted prize money has been donated to charity. Here’s the message they sent to Fortnite:

On February 15th, 2025, RepulseGod posted a video named “February 15, 2025” on his YouTube channel. The clip contained only text against a white background and no audio, offering an apology to viewers. At first, it didn’t draw much attention, but following Epic Games’ announcement, the video garnered over 10,000 views in no time.
Numerous Fortnite enthusiasts and gamers seem pleased by this resolution. For quite some time, cheating has posed a significant issue in Fortnite’s competitive sphere, but this legal action demonstrates that Epic Games is committed to maintaining a level playing field within the game.
